I don't think they sell Hounds & Gatos food here where I live but I travel to the US (around Bellingham and even Seattle) sometimes and I'm wondering where I can buy it? Their website doesn't help

I know I can order it online but I'm not sure if Ming will eat it so I'd like to buy a can or two for a taste test.

Usually independent pet stores carry it, but I couldn't find it near me either. I took a risk and ordered a case from Amazon but it wasn't really well liked by my cats. However, I have ferals so i just gave it to them so it didn't go to waste.

If you come across a Petlife store, they carry it.

I think you can order it from a website. I have to search my computer to see which site you can order individual cans...

That will take me a couple of days...sorry...

No worries!! I'm not in a hurry at all. So thank you so much for taking the time to look for the site!!

Oh yes that's a good idea. If I can't find a solution, maybe I'll just donate the cans to my shelter if my cat doesn't like it.

Found the Store:      "The only natural pet"

You can google the store. You can buy individual cans of food there....may be pricey, but you can try a few cans before investing in a case somewhere else...

Edwina and Ireland recommend the lamb!
(They love them lamb but don't like the other flavors too much, though I haven't tried them out on them in a while...)

Ooh! I think I'll give lamb another shot. I tried giving ziwipeak lamb to Ming but he didn't like it.

I am lucky that my local pet shop will order it for me where I live but I have also ordered my Hound and Gatos from PetFlow.  They have good prices on it (sometimes you can get a discount too!) and they ship very quickly.  Hope this helps!

Thank you!

onlynaturalpet.com There's uually a 10% off or something maybe free shipping for first time customers. The coupon ad usually pops up when you visit the web site or it's at the top of the page somewhere.

AWESOME! Thank you! They look like they have a pretty interesting Cat Exclusive store! http://www.catsexclusive.com/cat-store
Cats Exclusive is actually a very good veterinary center - with some great vets, too. They are gold members of the AAFP. My last cat's vet was a part of their veterinary team.
They focus solely on cats, of course. :cat:

They have a store as part of their business model, and along with the variety of foods they sell, you'll find a big variety of cat toys, etc.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but i was searching Hound & Gatos on here and found it.    If anyone is looking to try this brand for the first time and you aren't sure if your cat will like it,  you can email Hound & Gatos on their website and ask for samples.  I just did this and they sent me 7 of their 5.5 oz cans for free, 1 of each flavor.   I didn't have to pay for shipping either.  I was pleasantly surprised since I haven't come across any other brands that were willing to do that.

I also brought up this thread again because I have a question for those that have tried the different flavors- Is the lamb flavor supposed to be much drier/have much less moisture than the others?  Or did they send me a sample from a bad batch?   I had to add  a lot of water to that flavor to get it to a reasonable consistency compared to the other cans.

@destinyz12, that's great to hear that H&G sent you all that food!

As for the lamb, it's been a long time since we've fed much H&G but I do remember the lamb having a slightly different consistency from, say, the chicken: the lamb seemed a little grainier, though I'm not sure if I'd say it was drier. Most important: did your cat(s) like it? I always suspected that our cats liked the H&G's lamb best of all the flavors because the other kinds were more, hmm, jelled, gummier, and smooth. (Our cats tend to prefer more shreds and texture in their food, so that's not surprising!)

@LisaHE   My cat is turning out to be quite picky with her wet food.  we are still rotating her kitten food in which she loves (Nutro chicken), but we are slowly branching out and trying different foods along with that and she has recently developed an annoying preference of eagerly eating a new food while its fresh out of the can for the first time, and then refusing it after it's been refrigerated (even if we thaw it out or warm it up), so its hard to tell if she really likes some foods or not.  She did exactly that with all 3 of the H & G flavors she's tried so far along with a few other brands.  The only foods she will eat so far after being refrigerated and thawed out is her nutro kitten, Soulistic good karma, and the Merrick Puurfect Bistro cups/trays-which are kind of pricey.   Funny enough, all 3 of those have completely different textures so I don't think she has a texture preference so far.

Yes, a lot of cats don't like canned leftovers! Ours can be a bit choosy about leftovers but crumbling a treat on top usually gets them to eat. Happily. That said, we have a lot of food in the canned rotation even though the cats only get one canned meal a day: they get bored with their canned foods pretty quickly, though they'll devour the same freeze-dried raw foods twice a day, albeit in slightly differing proportions.

A lot of people think it's easy to feed cats but it's not!
