Hey guys,
I rescued a stray a week or so ago and named her Madonna. She's had dewormer, coccidia pre-treatment, and her first round of shots. A couple of days ago I noticed she was moving around a lot less and looked a little on the thin side. The same day she threw up twice and had diarrhea. I started giving her pedialyte every 1-2 hours. The next day she had a more solid bowel movement, but I haven't seen her eat since that day (yesterday) and I've offered her everything- dry food, milk formula, dry food with water, wet food, even wet dog food and things like baked chicken and pieces of cheese. She seems to sniff and be interested in the food but just doesn't get around to eating it. She ate a few bites of hamburger this evening, but before that, she had some diarrhea that was clear and looked like mucus. I can't seem to get her to eat, either.
I don't know when I can afford a vet visit so I'm asking for some advice from you guys.
We did have a litter of kittens that died recently from stinky diarrhea and not eating- but they seemed to be way more severe than Madonna. Her diarrhea also doesn't stink as much. Does this sound like something contagious, and is there anything I can do til I get to the vet? Should I try to get her to eat with a syringe and some mush?
