Hey everyone, I'm new here. I just made this account because I'm not sure who to ask, and I know this doesn't substitute as veterinary advice or anything. We got this kitten from these people, she was so tiny. We named her Molly, and were told that she is 6 weeks old. There was absolutely no way. I took her to the vet, and they guessed around 4 weeks. They weighed her at 1lb ( old non-digital scale) but our digital scale says about 11.5oz is her weight. I was told to stop the KMR and put her onto wet cat food and did so. We noticed she was getting really stinky, and discovered the corn-cob clumping litter the vet told us to buy, was getting stuck in her paws, along with her poo. I took her into the bathroom to brush her off, and she had full on diarrhea, it got all over everything. Today I just realized too, that she had went from 14 oz, down to 11.5 again. We had no idea that she had diarrhea because she buried it so well. We took her completely off of the wet food, and put her back on the KMR. ( When she was on that, her stool was fully formed, and she was steadily gaining weight). She's not acting sick, she still runs and attacks our feet. I'm switching out her cat litter to a non-clump litter. I don't really know what else to do, or what else to look for. She also has been vomiting since being on wet food. The vet also gave her some de-worming liquid, but I would think if she had a reaction to that it would have been same day, or day after.
I'm just really worried, because the same people we go her from, we baby sat a kitten for them for two weeks. He was very lethargic and we took him to the vet to find out that he had intussusception due to possible feline HIV, and we had to put him down. That was so sad, he was only about a few months old. I just want this baby to be okay.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Am I doing right by switching her back to KMR? Could it be that the vet didn't age her right due to the scale not being accurate, and the food be too much for her belly at this point?
Thank you all so much!
