Almost two weeks ago we took our almost year old male cat in to get neutered and have his immunizations. While he was there they discovered he had pretty bad ear mites, and treated him for that with a gel behind his head. The vet said since he's never been outside he most likely has had them since he was a kitten, from his mother.
Anyways, my cat is now a COMPLETE scaredy-cat! At first we thought, okay it was a traumatizing experience give him time, but it's almost been two weeks and he hasn't improved. He used to instigate play with our dog, run and play with our daughter and just be in your face 24/7 wanting to be center of attention. Now it's so bad everything causes him to run & hide, the dog can't even look at him without panicking him, and we had company over this weekend and he didn't even come upstairs for two days!!
So I'm wondering, will my cat ever be the same again?
Is it possible that the ear mights clouded his hearing and now everything is way louder?
Or is he just super pissed at us and we'be broken our trust? Lol.
this is so lame..
