It's just 2 pictures of my boy Cinder, he's a little younger in the bottom picture. He's 8 months old.

who are these guys? Name, rank, ID number please lol-----------------------

Quite right @segelkatt   make sure all blue cats are properly announced.

Welcome to The Blue Zone @sharilyn27  .  So, the little guy is called Cinder eh?  Would I be right in thinking he was thinking about chasing his tail in that second photo you posted here?      He's a very cute guy and I'm really looking forward to seeing how he grows up.
He looks like a cheeky cat to me so can't wait for more posts....

segelkatt segelkatt He's a British Shorthair. They have a thick double layered coat...so much so that I have been know to think Shadow's gained weight, then given him a good grooming only to find that the extra 'weight' was nothing more than excess fur :lol3:
As far as I know, the British shorthair is the only shorthair breed that is prone to matting, but I'm sure others will correct me if I'm wrong ;)

That also explains the more rounded face, I thought he was a Russian Blue with a fat face and short ears.

Back combed @Columbine?  Ha, that is Mouse having been stroked upwards with my hand.  It's a very unflattering picture because it makes his body look huge.
It's the illusion from 1" long strands of fur sticking directly upwards all round his body.
I suspect Shadow is rather smaller than he appears from his fur too, it's hard to believe he is 13 as he still looks like a kitten in his photos here.
Is he quite small for a British Blue?  The ones I have seen at shows here look quite large.

Shadow's bigger than he looks in those pics, but he's definitely smaller than our last pair of British shorthairs (2 creams). The bigger of those two weighed 12 lbs, and he'd started out as the runt of his litter! I'm not sure what Shadow weighs, but he's smaller than his brother (my avatar pic) was.

Shadow suddenly feels a lot bigger since we got Asha though ( my recent rescue who's got lots of posts elsewhere on this site)

Norachan Norachan Thank you :) It's very easy not to cuddle Shadow all day. He's a very independent minded cat and will only cuddle when he feels like it. If I try to initiate a hug when he's not in the mood he gets up, glares and stalks off! He used to come and ask for cuddles loads...then I quit smoking. He was obviously a tobacco addict...suddenly he stopped seeking me out so much  Now he'll ask maybe twice a day. I miss his long hugs...but not enough to start smoking again ;)

My deepest apologies to both Shadow and Mouse, my ignorance was talking. I always had a hard time telling the difference between a British Blue and a Russian Blue, they always looked pretty much the same to me in pictures. I had never seen a British Blue in person. Now seeing different poses of the same cats I can see that they do look quite different and are quite easily told apart. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa. I hope I am still allowed to make comments on this page.
