Beef stock with bread. Got all 4 wisdom teeth out yesterday, sustaining myself on a diet of anything I can slide down my throat without choking.

I can sympathize with you. When I had all the rest of my teeth taken out in April, I was on a diet like that for two weeks.

Two weeks, that's rough! Even just two days of this and I'm really missing the ability to chew, which really adds to the enjoyment of food...

What are calf fries ?

Heehee... They are calf testicles. Wonderful when fried. The ones I cooked were slightly bigger, so they may have come from a bull instead of a calf.

Definitely have to love food and be open minded to try them, but well worth it.

Haha, they aren't for everyone. Even I don't want them for dinner every night. And they are much better with cocktail sauce.

Hmmm, "calf fries" haven't heard of that before! Don't know if I'd be game enough to try them, although I have eaten deer tongue before and I have to say it was delicious. Pays to keep an open mind.

After an exceptional dinner last night of four pieces of raw cabbage dipped in garlic dressing, I thought I'd put a little effort in tonight. We had tostones and baked stuffed chayote, both of which I'd never had before, and grilled pork chops. Yummy! Definitely worth the effort and those tostones have me inventing variations in my mind already! Absolutely yummy. :yummy:

Why can't you eat cabbage? Too tough to digest?
It makes my son gassy and it's passed through breast milk (sorry if that's tmi). I had one cabbage roll a few weeks ago and he was not happy after. I can't have turkey either, I had that problem with Aimee too.
Christmas is coming and I will have to limit myself to a very small amount of turkey.

Tonight, I am making pork chops. We were going to have them last night but they were frozen solid still so we just grabbed a take and bake pizza from the grocery store.

When we were at King Arthur in October, I picked up a Farmhouse Chowder mix. I made it tonight, using broth from the Thanksgiving turkey and then adding a couple cups of chopped turkey to the soup. (That is the last of the turkey, other than what I threw into the freezer). It was pretty good. We each had a couple slices of homemade bread to go with our soup (I didn't make the bread; Rick's mom did).
