since early summer, i saw a stray cat hanging out in my neighborhood. it would sleep in the basement of the neighbor until they fixed the window. now its getting colder and the cat is really meowing out of hunger.
i think my other neighbor gave the cat food and everytime my door opens and i come out, she starts meowing non-stop. i feed her from time to time, mostly my food scraps. i bought these small cans 3 for $1.00 and she loves it, but i can't bring in the cat as i need permission from the owner, my allergies and sinuses would go nuts, and i don't plan on staying in my current place past x-mas. Was thinking of putting the cat in the yard and act ignorant if anyone asks why is there a cat in the yard, as cats can climb and jump pretty high. but there are three dogs in the yard and would go nuts barking like crazy at the sight of this cat. already get annoyed when they see an opposum or a squirrel or anyone coming through the midsection of the backyard.
i picked up the cat a few times already, so i know she's open for coming in. i've scratched the cat and she loves it and she's filfthy, summer of being outdoors does that to you.
just now, i threw out the trash and the cat was sitting outside the porch looking at the window, i guess for me to let her in, cause its getting cold.
called animal control, they aren't even bothering. there's like a dozen stray cats in the .15 mile radius. but this one specifically stays between my place and 5 house down. makes me think, the cat belonged to someone in one of those homes. as it gets colder, the cat is probably gonna be louder in her attempts to get somewhere warm.
would like some advice.
i know animal control is a death sentence, but its better than the cat suffering starving and now cold, especially after i leave.
