  So cute.

I'm sure she will be a lovely big sister, Aimee always sounds like such a happy, confident young girl I am sure she will take being a big sister in her stride.

Both my nieces loved being big sisters, helping mom and were very loving and protective of their new play mate/s.

I've got a little guy (19 months) that saw the pic of Aimee and was enthralled.
I'm sure she will be a wonderful big sister.

Aimee is 19 months too. She will be 20 months on Sunday. She will have just turned 2 when the baby is born, assuming this one comes on time. Aimee was born at 29 weeks.

Hi @catlover19....yeah I think this photo is cuteness times ten....lol

So since Aimee is still young, does she have any favourite names for her doll?

....or the new brother or sister?

I asked her what her dolly's name was a few days ago. I think she said Cocoa. Cocoa is my in laws dog.
I wish she was a little older and could help name the new baby. We have absolutely no clue what to name him/her. We find out if it's a boy or a girl in 4 weeks and then we will start thinking of names.

Atleast...the name Cocoa is different from the name "Dolly"...which was my doll's name as a kid.

  Aimee, has a better imagination....lol.

And there are fashion models named Coco...I think....as well as Coco Chanel.

Do you think that Aimee will be able to pass you diapers and things?

I mean does she listen to you when you ask her to share toys, even now?

My in laws said they named the dog Coco Chanel at first, but then it just became Cocoa. She calls every dog Cocoa, but she's starting to call them doggy.

Yeah, she will be able to help with things and pass diapers. She knows what a diaper is, she calls them diapahs. She knows to throw them in the garbage when I change her. When I ask her to get me something, she usually will do it. Sometimes I have to explain what I am asking for if she doesn't know. It's starting to come in handy since it's getting harder and harder to bend over.

Is there one thing different about this pregnancy than with Aimee?  Like the bending over to pick things up.

Do you have different cravings?

Everything is different about this pregnancy. With Aimee, I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was almost 6 months. This time, I found out at 1 month. I had no sickness or anything with Aimee, this time I have been nauseous every day. I haven't been sick, but I feel sick. With Aimee, I wanted peaches and ice cream all the time. This time, I want kettle cooked potato chips.

Bending over is getting harder because of where the baby is and I get out of breath really easily. If I drop something, I usually say "Aimee, can you pick that up for mommy?" and she gets it for me.

That is so interesting that the cravings now are salty based...and before they were sweet.  But maybe that will change. A lady I know takes some pepto for nausea, or heartburn....but I was surprised.  I thought you were not supposed to take anything, but natural stuff.

She also says she can only squat, and not bend, but tries not to.

Its so cool that Aimee helps you pick up stuff, so yeah, definitely she will be a great older sister.

I just wonder if she will want to share her toys, when she is older?  Its too soon to say?

All the old wives tales say salty cravings mean boy and sweet mean girl. It was right for Aimee, we will see in 4 weeks if it's right again. Some people will take medications. Pepto is ok until you are close to delivery. The only thing I will take is Tylenol and I take low dose aspirin daily as prescribed by the doctor (because of blood pressure problems).

I am hoping she will share her toys. She likes to share with the neighbour kid who is 4. They play together outside all the time and she shares her sand box and toys with him.

ah....I thought the older kids are supposed to share with the younger ones....lol.  So in this case, she is the generous one.
I know, Its how you raise the kids, too.  It shows how the parents are.   Sweet.

How about the "terrible two's" stage?  Do you think all kids go through it?  Its like they are little rebels, when they learn how to run, walk, talk?

My neighbour's daughter was not bad at all in this stage, but did like to explore and go off a lot.  Her older sister by three years older was so different, like night and day.

Its probably genetics, or one takes after the dad, and one the mom.  lol.

Aimee is so gorgeous she will be a lovely big sister. I love all the old wives tales. My first was a girl . My second pregnancy was so different and all the old wives tales predicted a boy. I even bought a bag full of boys clothes ( left the tags on so I could return them- just in case) my husband decided in the last week that if the baby was a girl I could call her Isla. He didn't like the name Isla but we were certain it was going to be a boy!!!! Nope! Isla is 5 now!!! I can't wait to hear if Aimee gets a sister or brother.

Aimee is starting the terrible two's already. If she doesn't get her way, she just sits down and won't move. I hope she doesn't act out too much since I will be dealing with a newborn at the same time.

I feel like this baby is a boy. Every wives tale says boy except for the sickness one. Apparently if you are really sick, it's a girl. I had no sickness with Aimee, but I've felt sick this time. I really wanted to buy a boys snow suit I saw on clearance but my husband wouldn't let me. I felt like it was too good of a deal to pass up, but he made me pass it up.

Are you going to find out in 4 weeks, is that what you meant? l didn't want to know. l went for an ultrasound with the first one and the tech told me she knew what "it" was. My hubby was there and neither of us wanted to know so we made a non-committal sound. And she said, "Yep, think pink". Ugh!! l could have smacked her

l was the opposite to you - l was horribly sick with my daughter, then felt much better with both boys. But there was a huge difference between genders so l think you're having a boy. We should start a pool

Well, sitting down and not moving is better than throwing a temper tantrum.

My friend's girl would jump up and down, and do that half crying, half theatrical event phase, whenever her mom said it was time to go to bed.  My friend would take 30 min to 1 hour in getting her to sleep.  But I was told kids love lullabies, but my friend said she had a bad voice.

(Its true we'd sing the "itsy bitsy spider song"...since I did not know any songs either, and her daughter just loved it.)

Slapping an ultrasound tech would have been bad, @Andrya..
..lol.

I'm  "IN" on the "pool"....lol.  But how would it work?   Are we just going to guess....boy or girl....before 4 weeks from now?   Can we ask more questions..
..sounds fun.

Hey @catlover19, I think your hubby was right about the snowsuit, unless you could return it, like Tammat, with the tags on.  I think they only give you 90 days, though, and not on clearance stuff.
