Almost down to 80 posts, what are we all going to do when we get there?   I remember having withdrawal last time.

Yup, I had withdrawal too.  I kept checking the site to see if anyone had posted anything new.  ::Sigh::

I hope we reach 1000 posts, but I think it will be fun seeing just how close we get.

So how do we determine exactly what time the contest ends?  I know its midnight tomorrow, but  midnight for who?  Just wondering (babbling)

OK... serious babbling...( I mean lots of babbling as it can't be serious by definition.)

So I thought, at this very late stage, I should provide as many synonyms as I could:

Here goes:

prattle, rattle on, gabble, chatter, jabber,  twitter, prate, ramble, blab, blurt, burble, blather, blether, blither, maunder, drivel, patter, yap, jibber-jabber, slabber, gab, yak, twaddle, run off at the mouth, talk nineteen to the dozen, verbal diarrhoea, talk the hind leg off a donkey

and the actual definition according to the Cambridge dictionary:   to talk or say something in a quick, confused, excited or silly way.  Which just about covers it, really.

Talk nineteen to the dozen?  I've never heard that before.  Is that a regional saying?  Also have never heard of the donkey reference either.  So interesting!

I feel like this is the definition of every single one of my posts.  (at least that's the way they sound in my head!)

I love "twaddle" and "verbal diarrhoea".
The dictionary definition just perfectly encapsulates what this thread is all about.

I didn't do much today - two loads of laundry, walked the dog, and sent my daughter to school. Lazy me. Well, at least I can say that the cats have been lazier!

So I'm at work today, and I'm packing up getting ready to leave, and DH texts me a picture of Eopie sleeping soundly on his pile of freshly laundered clothes.  it was absolutely adorable!  How do cats always find the clean laundry?

LOL....wow....your definition of "lazy" and mine are from opposite hemispheres.
...LOL....Ahhh, what do you consider a productive day?   I am afraid to ask?

Where my cats are
talk nineteen to the dozen.....this is my children.  And DS still speaks in gibberish or some unknown language half the time.  I'm currently ignoring that he is tossing little crumbs of food from his high chair.  There is only so much a person can take in a day and I surpassed mine a while ago.
DH is home; but he's been in the shower.  DD is trying to help me type.  I may have to sign off early tonight.  Not sure how much more of this day I can take.  I should go look in a mirror....  I did my hair and even put on a little eye makeup and decent clothing this morning.  I know my makeup is gone.  I think my clothing isn't too disheveled but my hair feels like it's not sitting quite right.  It may be standing up or flipped the wrong way....  What a welcoming sight for DH to come home to.  I'd go hide in the shower too!

@ PennyWise   Where did you get the name Eopie from? It is pretty unique.  I may have asked you that already. I just cannot remember if I saw the answer.

Cats always like the clean laundry, except strangely, sometimes they enjoy the smelly dog bed, go figure.

@MoochNNoodles  ....I doubt he is hiding in the shower...lol....did he see you and say....
....and then run to the shower?

I reckon they are English sayings that we also use in Australia... like: talk the legs off an iron pot

An Australian would probably go with windbag or say they 'talk flat out like a lizard drinking'   and if you were babbling in a crazy way you'd be 'mad as a two bob watch' or 'making a proper galah of yourself'

That's where I run and grab the Tylenol, I cannot function with a headache and the computer.  I also put cammomile tea bags on my eyes and it is very soothing.

How is your cat today, @GoldEye?

wow...im getting little pangs of sadness that this babble is drawing to a close lol.  i spent the better part of my afternoon drifting through other threads, looking at kitty pics...shedding a few tears over the rainbow kitties. playing a few games of online scrabble. sigh..thats when it all fell apart. my silly laptop kept freezing in my scrabble games, so i did what i usually do...clear the cache, history, old javas,, all that stuff. then i spent another hour trying to recall all my passwords to get back on things. (Karma for laughing at my birthmothers password issue?lol)  then i had to stop everything because Dave decided he needed to sit on my chest and mash his forehead into mine for 10 minutes or so. Dave is a big boy. about 16 lbs...long and tall and solid. when he sits on you ...oh boy you know it lol. when Dave was done i heated up a little slice of leftover quiche, watched a couple of spongebob episodes.

after all of this i felt guilty for being so lazy so i did the dishes, washed the floors, changed the catbox..then got tired and went back to my netflicks. im addicted to documentaries, in the middle of "ww2 in high def colour "right now. then i fell asleep..had a little cat nap and woke up feeling so happy id slept through the night...it was 6 oclock.  i rarely sleep through, so i was really happy, then i realized it was 6 p,m, sigh.

babble=chinwag, flopjaw,motormouth, me.

Those are some amazing sayings!  I find it interesting to contemplate the origins of colloquialisms like these.  You've given me more to think about once this thread is over!

@the 1who feedsus.....I get side tracked all the time, and when a computer problem arises, it just almost turns me into the "green HULK'...
.   Why don't you feel happier that it is 6pm instead of 6am?  Doesn't that mean that you have an extra night to do things or watch those documentaries?

Eating with her paw.  That is so cute.  I had a neighbour whose cat drank water with her paw, I could not believe it until I saw it.  Funniest thing ever.

@Mani   I don't think I understand Australian.  It seems way more colourful of a language than ordinary english....."talk flat out like a lizard drinking"....LOL...."leaping lizards Batman"

Eopie does this too, especially when we have a new bag of food that she really likes.  We cut a small hole in the side, just above the level of the food, and watch (laughing), as she sticks her paw in, cups a pellet, and pulls it out.  She's such a smarty!  Schnitzel, on the other hand, sometimes moves the pellets around her plate with her paw, I suppose so she can better eat them.  But no one really knows what goes on in Schnitzel's mind (I surmise it's circus music)

its been a long time since ive slept normally. rarely more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. doesn't matter what i do, exercise, meds, staying up till im worn right out, warm milk, cold air...i just dont sleep. actually ive done well getting close to 3 hours, sometimes 4 good solid hours since i put up dark red curtains and started sleeping with a bar of Yardley lavender soap lol. i know they say as you age you sleep less, but sometimes i feel teh way i sleep i should be 110.

it wouldn't even bother me so much the odd hours if it was restful rejuvenating sleep, but im in a basement apt and my bedroom window faces a sidewalk.  it's disturbing having people walking and talking 10 feet away from you when your trying to sleep lol.

and it sounds like im complaining but im not..well maybe a ittle but truth be told...i love this area. im right on the lake shore, i hear the water at night, very soothing, old old neighborhood, some of the apartments in my little complex are converted mansions built in the mid 1800s. my building was raised in the 40s.its pretty, and friendly, and would be 100% perfect if i wasn't on a sidewalk lol.

going back to my docs now lol...tonights episode is about Canadians in italy. my dad fought in Italy...he never spoke of it and its interesting to see what he saw..sad, scary, but interesting.
