@JTbo, the first picture link did not work for me., maybe it was my computer.
Not your computer, error lies between my finger and the eye, but I did fix that, perhaps :D

@allenkm, oh Bear, but certainly that must have some sort of sign ;)

What a fabulous map. I feel like I have to make an effort now, but perhaps @betsygee will have fallen asleep by the time I get there.  That road less travelled does look pretty but I'm not sure it fits with my  rule only to walk where there are footpaths and shops.
Perhaps the yellow brick road is more my kind a thing and less likely to get my non-valid passport checked that way too! This is an amazing gift you have MoochNNoodles, these maps really should be published somewhere - oh yes, they are!  On TCS!
Honestly, it is incredible how accurate it is with that bridge and everything in there, and forrests and mountains. Spooky.
Came home to a nice surprise today,

I have been thinking of rescuing a dog so I have all these dog supplies at my house. They have been there for over a week. Today I walked in and there were dog treats everywhere, because Bear ripped open all the bags and spread them around the house. He didn't eat any just made a big mess.

I can always tell what cat is responsible to, parental instinct I guess....
Oh yes, I do believe everyone is correct thinking this is a message from Bear.   Not sure it's that Bear wants you to bring a dog home though, more likely wanting edible cat food in the raidable bags you leave out in future not nasty doggy stuff.

I'm afraid I don't have any silly stories about Mouse today, be has been quite cute and cuddly, and not too bouncy since I got in from work.  He is currently snoozing on a chair after having to cope with me vacuuming the apartment earlier; always a little traumatic for him as all the biscuits he's missed in his feeding sessions vanish and he has to rely on me to throw some more for him to ferret out when he's bored. Mostly the ones that get cleaned up are the ones stuck under my speaker stand:  he can't get his paws under there, he gets most others.  I'm going to take most of his feeding bowls to the charity shop / cat shelter as he only ever uses 2 because of his dry food and fact that he really only eats when I throw his biscuits for him to chase.  Then he has a porcelaine bowl for his water- up beside the kitchen sink as that's where he likes to drink.   Well there or from the water sitting around the bath /bathroom sink drains.

Wey hey, SURELY we can manage 100 posts before the end of February now.

I'm getting excited.  (OK, I know that's sad but all this babble takes effort)!

I always wondered why mice actually even enter a house that has a cat?  Do they not smell the cat?  Are they just trying to get caught?
Maybe they have a desire to end their days for what ever the reason?

It could of course be also that they are bit over confident about their abilities to hide or that no mouse has escaped from the cat and managed to pass information of that encounter to later generations.

Of course mouse has quite small brain, maybe they just are not smart enough, like a mosquito that keeps coming no matter how many times they almost get killed.

So many unknowns in this world, so much to learn

......

Wonderful map, that Road Less Traveled seems much nicer route, one gets to see the great forests too with that route!
For such a small brain, they sure evade the mouse traps I set out under the sinks and cupboards....lol.  I put cheese, meat, peanut butter, bread, and even tried chocolate....but those mice always eat the food and the trap does not SPRING.  My neighbour has caught two in her traps, and one decided to jump into a bucket of laundry water and poor guy drowned.  My senior cat of 14yrs old came out of retirement and did catch two.  But since this winter has been harsh and cold, I know there will be more.

I like the theory that they cannot pass their information of escape to future generations....lol.

Yes, the photo worked now.  Such a beautiful black cat.  There is something extra special for me and black cats,  they move without anyone seeing them in the night,  and my young cat who passed on, looked as handsome as yours, but was extremely gentle and smart.  He did not meow but squeaked.

Well, we are not far off 1000 posts now. We need just over 100 posts now before midnight tomorrow to do it.

Who made post 750 to win the prize ???
I believe it was catbehaviours, my laptop battery konked but when I got back it was posted.

Hey @GemsGem  are you a collector of fine stones, or just like jewelry?  Either way, it is a very cool name.

My names Gemma but everyone calls me Gem and I think it started somehow by one of my friends saying
" Your a gem, Gem " and somehow that's changed into gem gem then gems gem. Weird I know but somehow it just stuck LOL

Am I living under a rock or something??
Where in your world, @MServant   and @MoochNNoodles,   is there a BRIDGE that spans the ocean??
(this may come across as yelling but it is not...lol)

I must have missed this in the tourist brochures. HUH....I must get a new travel agency.

Thanks for the Mouse update, that is my quota for today....and so I am happy.  I must break now for awhile because I have to get some things done before 5pm...here it is only about 3pm....yes I hate these time differences too.

Happy babbling everyone.

p.s. @GemsGem,  that story in how you got your name is kinda nice.  I keep thinking about Rhianna's song "diamonds in the sky" ....but your story is better....lol

I have caught one earlier with piece of mandarin orange (name of fruit as wikipedia tells me).

However I don't think it is about what you put as food, but more of where you put that trap. If you find where they come and go, put trap right there so that they have to walk over it, that way they are caught.

Also with three wooden pieces and two or three mouse traps you could make such trap that mouse has to enter from one end and food would be at the center, so they have to walk over the trap to be able to get even near the food. That way they would be quite well outsmarted.

I have had also some success when I have tied cheese into trap, so when they are attempting to steal it, they rock trigger plate enough hard to launch the trap.

Problem with traps is that I can't use those same time with cats being around, they might get their paw into trap and that would of not be very good, I would not forgive myself of such accident.

My old RB cat used to get into the dog treats; the biscuit bone style, and eat them.  Or she did at least once anyway!

LOL.....Is there a BRIDGE across the ocean in your map??  Or is that some type of super ferry boat.?..LOL

I love "the road less travelled".....and the "yellow brick road"  is a short cut.

You will have to start writing children's books, if you have the time between tantrums.
Hmm....  Writing children's books has always sounded like a lot of fun!  Getting them published is probably the hardest part.  I think I'd stick to illustrating by hand; not with paint.

My house is much quieter right now and it's not quite nap time.  5 minutes for the little one 35 for the big one.  Once I ignored her tantrum long enough she calmed right down.  Every now and then I'll remind her I can't hear her when she talks like that.  I haven't resorted to the method of talking to them like cave people.  It's tempting and someday I might.  In little ways I use it; but not like this book I read suggests.  It's interesting; because they really can behave like little cave people sometimes...

There was me assuming there was a cat called Gem, or Gems in your life somewhere GemsGem!  My boy's fur-mom is known as Jems.
Your friends give you nice nick names, I'm not sure mine would.
I'm not sure I want to ask them either.....

I was going to tell you about the nickname one of my friends had for me when we were teenagers.  I decided that isn't the smartest thing.  I'd rather have been called a Gem!

Probably wise @GemsGem.
I can think of a few I've had over the years, many from my family, and I can't think of any flattering ones that it would be in my interests to tell more people about!

I am about to start my mean mom mode and go raid Mouse's toy stashes.  There's a box with 'stuff' in plus a fake sheepskin cat bed filled with more 'stuff', both in my sitting room and that doesn't include all the toys and boxes that are in use and spread about the apartment.  I wonder if he will wake up once I start looking through everything and he hears the rustlles and rattles?

Okay, yes I will try to tie my food to it so that they cannot just walk off happily.  My traps have to be hidden under cupboards and behind places where the cats cannot go, because I , too, would not forgive myself for getting a cat hurt in any trap.
LOL....."behaving like little cave people"......I don't know, that is just a cute visual.  Maybe not for you, but on this side of the computer, it is.  LOL

Yeah, thinking about it that's the only nice nick name they ever gave me. The rest well, I wouldn't want to repeat them either. I sure if I asked them what they would call me now they would come up with some crazy lady name :lol3:
But I think I'd rather not know :D

Am I living under a rock or something?? :popworm:  Where in your world, ,   is there a BRIDGE that spans the ocean??  (this may come across as yelling but it is not...lol)

I must have missed this in the tourist brochures. HUH....I must get a new travel agency.:Airplane:
In China there is over 100 mile long bridge that was finished at 2010, but longest bridge over water is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Pontchartrain_Causeway almost 24 miles long.

But there is kind of bridge over ocean between Sweden and Denmark near here, it really just goes part way over the sea and rest of the way is in tunnel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Öresund_Bridge

But those bridges in China are quite ridiculously long, maybe they build long bridge over water at some point too, surely they do have this bridge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiaozhou_Bay_Bridge but it is not the longest continuous bridge over water.

Those old railroad bridges over the canyons in US are quite breath taking, like for example this one that is replaced with something not quite so scary these days http://historylink101.com/bw/American_Image/slides/4-j-IMG_1555.html

Cave people, I guess that is because kids are still learning their emotions and need to practice more to be able to gain some control over them. As cat's don't have any ability to control their emotions, they are quite easily directed by simple adjustments to get their feel differently of something, maybe same might work for kids, well up to certain age perhaps, then they start to outsmart their parents. Oh that reminds me, so do my kitties too :D

Oh when my son tries it it's cute.  It doesn't last long and it's easy to ignore how he so pitifully lays himself out on the floor.  I can stay amused at that!  He never hits the pitches DD goes for sometimes.  She didn't do that today; thank the Lord!  And she asked to go lay in her bed a half hour early.  I don't think she is sleeping; but I had my lunch in peace and I'm browsing some stores online looking for storage bins for toys.  If she does sleep I might go for that power nap.  I'm mentally tired today!

We've got less than 90 posts to go!  Can we do it!?!

It might be quite close, but perhaps, speed has been picked up quite a lot recently, but I can't help much longer as I'm already seeing dreams with eyes open, must get to sleep I think.

I think that 15-35 posts have usually came while I have slept, but that might be more this time, it will be interesting to see how many post will come tonights sleep. 28. will start in less than 20 minutes here, but because of time difference there is enough time until deadline.

Very much fun this contests, it is not the winning, but the fun in the progress :D

Almost down to 80 posts, what are we all going to do when we get there?   I remember having withdrawal last time.

On a recent thead there were some links to adverts we've had here in the UK: I don't know if anyone else has seen one, it's pretty old, where a kid starts to have a melt down tantrum in a supermarket and starts screaming and thrashing about, so the mom throws herself down on the supermarket floor and starts screaming too?   I love that advert.
As ever, I can't remember what the advert was for but it was good.:-D  Always wanted to see what would happen if someone did that in a supermarket when I was in there and a kid started to scream.

Oh.  There are times I want to do that too.

And yes I will probably have a little withdrawal. I'll probably get more work done around the house too.  But then maybe not.  The only thing I haven't gotten done this week is steaming the floors.  I hate doing it when DS is up because it's hot and I have to walk through the living room to get the foyer and bathrooms done.  The living room is where I can gate him in with his toys to get work done.  Speaking of; time to put the kids bedding in the dryer and finish cleaning the kitchen so I can start dinner.  I tried to get in a power nap; but every time I dozed off someone (DD mostly) woke me up.  It's kind of been an "off" sort of day anyway.  I guess it fits.  I'm hoping for a good night!

I agree, it is more fun in the participation than in the actual competing.  When I was in school, I had more fun in sports when actually just playing for fun, as opposed to playing other teams, because then it became too serious and the other players would elbow, trip and push.  This was high school sports, not Professional League Sports.  We did win a few trophies, but had some great moments when we lost too.

LOL,....I would slowly walk backwards, out the door.  I'm hoping that the kid stops crying really fast, and that the commercial was not for any "junk food" product, candy or chocolate.

And yes I will probably have a little withdrawal. I'll probably get more work done around the house too.  But then maybe not.  ....
Wait, are you two planning on never speaking to the rest of us again....LOL....what kind of withdrawal is this?

Are you, @MoochNNoodles   and @MServant,....planning on hiding out somewhere on TCS?

Are there even places to hide?

Oh I don't think there is anywhere to hide!   Actually; TCS is one place I come to hide from the rest of my life. (DH is working late tonight.)

My kitchen is mostly clean and a meatloaf is smelling good in the oven.  I'm soo soo thankful for my dishwasher.  Once this load is done I already have some things for the next load unless crazy comes over me and I decide to hand wash them.  My kids are playing in the living room.  Lot of giggling.  DD has decided that DS is "the bad guy."  I'm not sure what she is.  If she is "catching" him or joining in?  Mostly they are giggling and getting scolded for running ON the couch.  Did I mention DH is working late?  One more day till the weekend.  One more day.  I think we need to get out of the house tomorrow.

LOL...That all sounds great except for that "crazy" part coming over you and hand washing the dishes, except that I find sometimes handwashing is alot faster than loading and unloading.  Now I'm sounding "crazy"...lol

I hope the weather gets alot warmer, because it is nice having the sun, but not if its freezing and windy outside, then i prefer the indoors.

I gotta go throw a load in the laundry now too.
