Hello. I am Gwennysmom. I created a thread in the Behavior forum a few days ago about my cat peeing in front of a calming diffuser. I got some helpful tips, including an interesting article on dry food and urinary problems: http://www.catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth. I definitely see signs of this problem in both of my cats.
My cats are Gwenny, approx. 10 year old, and Luna, approx. 9 . Before these two, I had two other cats which both became diabetic. I was then on the Feline Diabetes Message Board, but that was over 10 years ago and I haven't done anything like that since, so feel like I am new at all of this.
Gwenny has a long history of problems. She has periodically peed around my place, for no decernible reason. She has always been antisocial and cranky--her nickname is Grumpy. Most of her behavior issues are written in my Behavior forum post "peeing in front of calming diffuser" -- sorry, I don't know how to include that here. She seems to be doing a little bit better--not peeing out of the boxes as much.
My other cat, Luna, is a very lovable, normal cat. I feel bad for her that she got stuck with grumpy Gwenny. They get along, for the most part, but are not buddies.
I guess that's it for now. I have a lot of questions that I will be asking, but for now, I'm just introducing myself and my two creatures.
