fellow babblers.    It's getting late here and I really need to get to bed soon.   Not only is TCS too interesting but any plans for sleep are not likely to be successful until Mouse tires out.  He's currently in full play mode.  I think he might be trying out  ADHD tonight:  he is insisting I have the Undercover Mouse running at the same time as playing DaBird, running back and forth to his scratching tower, then  hiding behind the door like he wants  game of hide n seek, then sitting under the chair where he waits to get his biscuits thrown for hunting purposes, then launching himself across the room at the Undercover Mouse and back to DaBird antics.
I think maybe he slept all day while I was out learning how to make felt and now he is making me pay....  at least I don't have to get up from my lap top as long as I avoid hide and seek.
   How lazy am I.

Almost recovered from the chocolate mint overdose I consumed earlier.

I wasn't aware that subway had soups, either.  Maybe its a regional thing?

But I certainly would LOVE a falafel sub.  I'll cross my fingers that they come to NY soon!!

I spent the afternoon threading the loom.  It can be quite relaxing though it is taking longer that I'd like.  I'm only 2/3 through threading 397 ends.  I did glare at my iPod several times though because it insists that Tom Petty and Phil Collins must be played all of the time.  I tell it that there are 15000 songs so it can find something else.  We've already banned Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, and the Rolling Stones from its shuffle because that is all it played. I did get my daily Ramones song and it found some blues and peppy pop tunes.

So while I threaded, all sorts of things I wondered about.  Like will @MServant ever be able to make a decent cup of tea or will you always need to rely on the kindness of strangers to make you a decent cup of tea.  Also, @MoochNNoodles , is imaginary tomato soup tastier when you eat it with a sprig of asparagus? or is it a stalk of asparagus?  And finally, will younger people understand that before the internet, there could be torturous conversations about who is the actor who was in the movie with some other actor?  I think they had a cat or a ferret or a parrot.  Who is that actor?  Now one consults a smartphone and answers the question so quickly. No more agony wondering.

Mouse game has been a horrible failure since last night.  First, the mouse that Kiefer brings is black.  I am surprised at his choice, but it is his choice.  I throw it for him and he goes to it.  But he sits down and stares at me.  I don't know what he does with the mouse that is the preferred mouse.  Eventually, he will find it and all will be right with Mouse Game.

Keg is still wandering around the snowstorm.  He says he will probably head home tomorrow for a couple of days with the kitties and me.  But guess what is forecast for the Denver metro area?  That is right, snow.  So he will get to enjoy the snowstorm here at home.  But I suspect he won't mind as he will be here with the kitties, a cup of hot chocolate and me.

And it is so good to see new people join our little babble-fest.  I will repost the rules just so we all know how it works.

The Rules

1. Minimum of 15 words per post.

Don't bother with counting words. Just make sure your posts are longer than one line and you should be ok.

2. Proper English. Please don't just hit randomly at your keyboard. No gibberish allowed and as with other posts on the site, try to avoid texting abbreviations.

3. Comprehensible posts. Your posts can be drivel, but they still need to make sense. Avoid using automated text generators. It's a babbling thread, but we still want to see communication with your fellow members.

4. Original posts only. Please do not copy and paste text from another source. Not even from this site. Not even if you were the author. Just write something fresh for this thread.

5. No consecutive posts. You can't add a reply if yours is the last post in the thread. If anyone starts talking to themselves to speed things up, they risk getting banned from this thread.

Thank you for your kind thoughts katachtig, I'm afraid that many years of practice have failed to produce more than about 2 cups of half decent tea (and even fewer of coffee) so there is little hope on that front.  For those of you familiar with my posts you might have noticed I go out for tea / coffee quiet regularly with my friends and family.

Do you ever wonder if Keg has a personal snow storm that follows him about the country?  And did I miss the news on the goat?  Did they ever find it???

I hope your mouse game gets sorted soon and that the preferred mouse returns, I hate to think of Keg getting home and finding you all sad and troubled by insufficient mouse play.

l'm curious as to this talk of insufficient mouse play
but there are 344 posts, so l'll let my imagination run riot rather than read back.

@katachtig  ; my cousin just bought a house in Denver.  Being lifetime upstate New Yorkers prior to this; I'm sure they should be used to it!  My ex-stepbrother had moved there for about a month earlier this summer.  I don't know why but he moved home faster than he expected.  It was supposed to be temporary; but I didn't think THAT temporary!  What is it with Denver?

I suppose asparagus would be tasty in tomato soup; if it were not made of plastic and the soup imaginary.  And I think it's called a stalk. They grow lots of it around here.  This year I learned that if you don't pick it soon enough it will grow into a little tree.  I wish I had stuck some asparagus in this egg/sausage bake I made to go with our stuffed french toast tonight.  It's yummy (I added a chopped tomato) but I need some green I guess.

Oh no Andrya,  I'd hate you to miss out on that one!  Just had a look and looks to me like it started at the top of page 9.
Haven't laughed so much in years as I have on this thread!!!   The mouse game is amazing, I don;t know how my cats have managed to tolerate living with me all these years when I so obviously haven't got a clue how to play the mouse game.  My cats have been so deprived!
 Not.

So many expensive things I want to buy, but I can't really afford them all. :(

Well, 3 things. A freezer, a bike, and a DSLR camera. I need to put my cat to manual labor and make me some money!

Oooo I love craft fairs!  Have fun!  I have one coming up in about 3 weeks and I can't wait!

I think the only thing worse than having a cat stare at me while I eat is having a kid stare at me.  I swear I fed them!!

Speaking of kids....little kids dancing is the cutest thing EVER!  My son looks like he's trying to river dance to a song with a Latin beat....

Anyone else think Mani's going to come back and post how many skeins of pretty wool she bought?

We should do a Knitervention.

Yesterday while walking past a fitness center, I bumped into my former dive buddy I haven't seen in 10 years. He invited me for coffee but insisted we have it at the gym where he works out because it was free. Looking back, I think he had no money on him and was too embarrassed to say so.

I'm pretty bummed right now... decided I better not try returning to work for another week, as health is still too weak to deal with demands of my client yet. I am a night aide for an Alzheimer's patient & she gets up frequently. I miss the many months when she would sleep almost all night long....
Not sure what I can say to make you feel happy or at ease, but here is a hug!
 Hope you feel better soon!

yuck , kitty snot !  One time years ago, I was lying on my back and Lilly was sitting right on my chest - I yawned really big, and just as my mouth was open the widest, Lilly leaned forward, and SNEEZED RIGHT IN MY OPEN MOUTH!!
Oh, it was so gross, kitty spit, snot, germs, it was horrid, I was mortified.  (I got really sick a day or two later, do not know if it was I coincidence or not..) So gross it was
Oh my goodness!!!! That would be icky! that happened to a friend of mine awhile ago too, but it was with a dog.

Ah, kitteh's and their flying boogies.....

Drinking hot chocolate at the moment, coffee crisp flavour, definitely a delight! Always pleasant for relaxing, with the added warmth.

Ok my turn to over eat I guess.  Dinner was more filling than I anticipated I guess.

Noodles got herself in trouble.  DH was in the living room with the kids while I went to use the restroom.  He walked into the kitchen and found Noodles so engrossed with licking out the bowl I'd whipped the french toast filling in that she didn't even hear him.  Cream cheese and confectioners sugar.  She was licking her chops when I saw her next, had her bath and is now occupying her spot on the cat tree looking quite content!

I'm too full to finish cleaning this kitchen...

Plus have you seen my status?  I'm no longer a Newbie!  I'm finally a Kitten!

I wondered how many posts I would need to make to graduate to my next status.

I wonder what's next?  and how many posts you need to make to become a Super Cat? (Other than being a fur-covered, cuddle-loving, purr monster, which I can't be, but then my little monster can't type.  Although sometimes she tries....)

pennywise pennywise congratulations on your kitten status. When I was at kitten I posted like crazy because I was very excited to move up to Adult Cat. When I got to 99 posts I was stuck. I didn't want to waste post 100 on something silly. But then my wonderful cats decided to help me out and cause enough trouble that I had to ask for advice. They love me that much that they would injure themselves just so I had something to post for my 100th post. They are so giving and thoughtful that way.

Did somebody mention asparagus? I've never understood why Germans eat it while it's still white and tasteless. On the other hand, give me green olives over black ones any day.

Are there any DaBird game rules like the mouse game rules? Mogli likes to play with DaBird on our bed, probably so he has a softer landing.

I have been wanting to ask this for a few days but am a little embarrassed that I have to ask. I don't want anyone to think that I'm not good to my cats. So.... ok... here it is... (deep breath)... what is DaBird? They way everyone talks about it I feel I may be depriving my cats of some wonderful, magical play thing.
