I'm just curious if this is normal or if there is a health issue I should be concerned about. My black cat has mediumish black fur. Recently, parts of her fur have turned white/gray. Behind her ears is most noticeable, but it's also at the base of her tail and under her belly. Actually, I just looked at her again, and her under side, including the bottom of her tail is a gray brown color. I have read that black cats "rust" in the sun, but this is just there. It's not just when she's in sunlight.
She does have a few sparse completely white hairs throughout her coat, so I am curious if maybe it's just her coloring? She's about 15 months old, so it's not old age.

Another issue I have is she got out of the house yesterday. Solicitors came to my door and when I answered it, she walked out. I was going to get her as soon as they left, but they distracted me and I forgot to get her. She was out there for about 3 hours before she came around the back of the house to be let in. She could have went anywhere and I have seen another stray cat in the area, so she may not have been alone.
How worried should I be about her possibly catching a sickness or being pregnant? I had plans to get her spayed next month, but I'm afraid it may be too late. :/
I'm just hoping the stray was a female, too.

Not sure about the hair, but get her spayed ASAP.  Even if she's been impregnated, you can spay her and the pregnancy will not go forward.

OMG, this is so odd.  I was just going to post a picture of my black cat, who is turning grayish on his underside.  I took a picture of him this afternoon, but it's on my phone, which is not handy at the moment.

I don't think it's a health issue.   Some cats to change color during their lives.  For instance, my guy started out with a gray undertail, which turned to black, and now other parts of him are turning grayish, and longer hairs are popping out.  He's 4 1/2.  (and has the most luxurious coat ever...like a mink
)

My other black cat is actually kind of a rainbow color in the sun

It's the wrong time of year for cats to get pregnant. . .but indoor cats may have messed-up cycles due to artificial lighting and heat, so it is possible :(. Personally, I'd call the vet and explain the situation, and see if they can get her in to be spayed sooner.

Winter coats are frequently a different shade than summer coats. Usually lighter, although some cats go darker. She's just putting on her winter coat! :lol3:

The estimate for her spay and shots from the vet was close to $400. So, I have to wait until my local spay/neuter program has a spot available for her at the cost of $80. I'm getting my male cat neutered on the 1st. Hopefully they will have a spot for females soon.

I have a similar curiosity, my girl was born of a long hair black and white cat and a pure black cat but on her chest there are some scattered white hairs. They only just appeared a month ago and she's only a year old. Is this an effect of genes coming through or something else??

I have a friend who's cat had a stroke and her vet gave the cat a blood thinner, like you'd get for humans who's had a stroke, for prevention. It can be expensive though which is why we try to get our meds from a Canada Cloud Pharmacy instead =\
