Mani, you're taking such good care of your visiting dog.....he's not going to want to leave you when it's time to go home. And that's a beautiful flower arrangement. (Is that ulcer on YOUR leg????)

Grocery night, not buying much, mainly cat supplies, I think

Working in the yard tonight

And I think that's pretty much it for tonight.

Molly, the dog, has awful itch problems.  I gave her a bicarb soda bath and then rubbed her down with aloe vera.  I think her itch is made worse because she misses her people, but it did seem to help. She goes home tomorrow.  I took her to visit her owner in his respite home last Saturday and he wept when he saw her... it was sad and beautiful all at the same time.

The ulcer is on my uncle's leg.  I'm 'nurse' on weekends.  It's an awful looking wound.  He's 92 and in heart failure.. the fluid retention in his legs makes it almost impossible to heal the ulcer.  I don't think he has much longer, so it's important to be around.  He's one of those 'gentlemen' of his generation.. a pleasure to be with.

Poor Molly....I bet that itching drives her batty. Our (grandkids' dog) Maggie used to have itching to the point where it caused hot spots. And she wouldn't leave the spots alone, so that made it even worse. Thankfully, she's doing a lot better now, but she was wearing a cone all the time, simply to give her hot spots time to heal. That's sad about her owner; he misses her so much.

Leg ulcers are just nasty. I have a GF who has one and it literally took years for her to get it fairly healed. She still wears special stockings and she has to be very careful that she doesn't bump that leg or do anything to it because the ulcer will come right back. I'm sorry about your uncle's leg; he sounds like a very special man.

Let me see, things to get done today:

Vacuum the house a bit

I'd like to make a pot of vegetable soup

Weed in the garden

Got the bus in to town to meet a friend for a very long coffee and a marmalade scone at an art gallery cafe. Very nice scone. Would have walked but I had a lazy start today and didn't leave enough time!

Went on a shopping challenge to find a (gold if pos') chain as a present to myself from my brother within an agreed budget. Succeeded much to my surprise.
(Main reason for going in to town).

Collected huge delivery boxes from my neighbour's apartment as they arrived while I was in town: weighed a tonne as included Mouse's new litter... (
it works and he likes it coz I've got 30k of it to use up! ) then set the boxes up for Mouse to play in. So far the stinky valerian mouse and 2 boxes have had about 5 minutes attention and the scratch post's scored 0. Then he went off to chase a fly. Hey ho.

No! No! Not the stove!  It will make me feel guilty - I can't remember when I last attacked mine.
I have to clean my oven (well, I have to press the button to clean the oven). When I made mac and cheese on Saturday, it baked out over -- I guess that's why the recipe said to put the casserole on a cookie sheet
-- and burned on the bottom of the oven. It's not bad, but it needs to be cleaned. I keep forgetting to clean it and now you reminded me, SOOOOOOOOOOOO

Clean the darn oven (Ok, press the button to clean the oven, although I'd better try to scrape up what I can first)

Laundry (and hopefully I won't put a catalog in with the laundry this time!)

Vacuum living room and kitchen

Run some errands:Target, bank, Bed Bath & Beyond, mall, etc.

Make cookie dough tonight to bake cookies on Saturday (we're going to my sister's on Sunday for a picnic; I am to bring macaroni salad, an assortment of cookies, and a blueberry buckle....and she'll let me know tonight if I'm to make some BBQ chicken for the grill). Haven't decided what cookies to make yet, but am leaning toward a chocolate and peanut butter brownie, chocolate chunk cookies, and some snickerdoodles (for dear Richard and for my niece).

Go to a local flooring place to look at hardwood flooring for our bedroom (our bedroom is actually one room made from two bedrooms. We combined the two rooms to get more space).

Another flooring store

Can a few more jars of honey-glazed red onions

Lowes - We have an ant problem and we can't get rid of those buggers. They're the tiny little ants. I keep a clean kitchen; I swear I keep my kitchen clean. But we can't get rid of these ants. We need more Ortho Home Defense.
