We've had a problem with roaches at work for several months now; probably a year. They were brought in by a patient in one of the clinics along with bed bugs. I think the bed bugs have been resolved, but we are still having an issue with roaches. Today I was in clinic and was putting a patient in a wheelchair into an exam room. I moved a couple of chairs and saw a roach crawling on the floor. It was all I could do not not shriek! LOL
Anyway, I managed to keep my cool. I did my patient interview, then sent in the doctor and got the patient out of there asap. However, as soon as I left the room to get the doctor to go in, I quickly made a call about the roach and sent an email to my manager.
She responded with "Did you put it into a bottle?"
To which I replied
"Ewwww! No way!!!! LOL"
I know that as a nurse there are a lot of "other duties" that falls into my job description, such as mopping up pee, cleaning up vomit etc. But bug catching is not one of them!!! LMAO
