Oh my goodness!!  Just look at that sweet boy!!!  He's got that face, just like Angel, YES, I would be hugging & kissing him all the time!!

Poor Angel, I'm sure sometimes, if he could, he'd say, "Moooooom, stop!" "Just like a little boy!"

Give Lucas a big squeeze from "auntie Kelly!"

Lucas loves his auntie Kelly because he knows how much she loves him, he sends lots of hugs and kisses, he loves all his aunts and uncles here:) Aww haha Angel must be like my LUcas he is not very happy when I pick him up, haha, he loves me but he is not a lap boy.

I'm having a little problem right now, Lucas is ok,  the problem is I can't find prednisolone (Prednis-tab 5mg) anywhere.  They don't have it at the vets anymore and the vet told me yesterday they are having a lot of trouble finding it.  They told me I could give him prednisone, but I know prednisolone is safer for him, for his liver.  So I found  a place online where they have it available and I will try to order it, but I have to get a prescription and they want my vet to fax them the prescription, not sure if they will do that, I hope they do.

My other option is to buy it online without a prescription, but Lucas has always taken Prednis-tab 5m, it is for veterinary use, and the one they have without a prescriptin is for humans.  I know it is supposed to be the same thing, but I always worry and I'm not feeling so good about it.  I want the prednis-tab!!

I will see what can be done.

I am sure you tried googling for online pred5.   Did you come up with this one?   prednisolone5mg10mg20mg40mgonlinevhq.com

Lucas is getting more handsome every day.  He just reminds me so much of my Psy

thank you, I've looked for prednistab 5mg everywhere, the link you gave me is good, but I don't think it is for prednisolone.  I will keep looking:) thanks

Oh no! I hope you can find it! :(   (I'll put that on the "prayer list")
Yea, Angel is the same way when I try to hold him for more than a minute or two.  "Down mommy."

What great news! It's terrific that Lucas is feeling (and looking) so much better. Your persistence in getting him what he needs has really paid off. Go, Lucas!

Thank you all ! I have an important update for you all. The vet told me to just try and give Lucas 2.5mg in the morning and 1.25mg in the afternoon just to see how he does, well the symptoms immediately started: he started having a discharge in the eyes that looks like puss, so I called her and she told me to just keep the previous dose of 2.5 mg in the morning and 2.5mg in the afternoon and keep him on that dose. She also told me she is sure Lucas does have an autoimmune disease that could be Discoid Lupus, she can't say she us sure because he has never been tested for that and can't be tested because he is on prednisolone. But all the symptoms are there and it seems he will have to stay on prednisolone for life.

It is sad, but I've always known in my heart he had this, out very first vet was so right when he said this was lupus. Sadly he moved to the us and could't continue treating my baby. At least now out vet understand his condition and will deal with the side effects of he pred as they come. Maybe he won't have any, who knows?

Alll I know is my baby is doing great! He is happy, he is active, he is gaining weight his eyes immediately cleared once he got his 5mg of pred.

So, the mystery of Lucas condition has been solved:

Lucas has an autoimmune disease that seems to be Discoid Lupus- a benign firm of Lupus that affects the skin,in Lucas case, the eyes, ears, mouth, causes fever and pain on his body, causes his toes and paw pads to hurt and bleed sometimes, and causes infections on his mouth and throat.

The demodex was caused by the long use of prednisolone, but by giving him the dose half in the morning and half in the afternoon the demodex is under control.

Lucas never needed Prozac, it only helped him because it made him numb so he stopped scratching and the skin got better, but it was the demodex, not the stress causing him to itch.

Thank you all for all the help and vibes for my Lucas!

Hugs to all!

Well that's wonderful... a positive diagnosis and a treatment that works.

Well done you!
You couldn't have done more for Lucas to get him to this point.

I just clicked on the " view all "  for recent pictures to this thread.  It is a time capsule of 1 year of pictures.  Amazing recovery.  I know it was a long, hard road for both of you.  Hugs, petsies, and skritchies to Lucas.  And a big thumbs-up for you.

Thank you both so much! And yes, its been a year since I started rhis thread, but Lucas problems started like 4 years ago and I could swear it started when he got his vaccines, but no vet believes that was the cause, of course they wont say it wad the vaccines, but he started getting sick shortly after that.

My next step with Lucas will be to buy 4Life Teansfer Factor for cats. I know it has helped kitties with immune problems like Lupus and I want to give it to my boy. I have to do everything in my power to make hom stronger:-).

I LOVE HIM

Wow....what a long hard road you have been on. I'm fairly new here and just beginning to catch up on members stories. Glad a diagnosis was finally made. He looks so well now. Good for you! Not sure I'd have had the strength you have shown. We love our little furballs so much, the pain must have been awful for you watching him go through all that. So glad it is under control now. The relief you must feel..wow..wish I could reach through the computer to give ya a hug!

"I couldn't agree more!"   It's been a long hard road for you & Lucas. At least now, he is feeling better & can stay that way w/ a vet that understands.

"Great job Tammy!"
 BIG HUGS for you both!!!!!

Thank you Kelly and Laurie! I feel so good about this because I always knew deep in my heart that he had Lupus and hecreally needed this treatment.

I went ti the 4Life store and they disn't have the Feline Transfer Factor Complete, but they ordered it for me and it will arrive next Thursday. I have to get Lucas to take it with his food, he is picky and always notices when I put something diffetent in his food. He has to take the TF because I know it can help him. In fact I read online about a cat that was recently duagnosed with Lupus and what the vet prescribed was 5 mg of prednisolone daily for the rest ofhis life and the Transfer Factor.

He is still doing great I have to admit I 'm afraid and I keep checking his ears for demodex and everytimd he scratches I panick, but everything looks good right now. He is so happy, i love it:-)
