My cat is very pregnant I noticed last week I could feel the babies moving. This week she is sleeping alot and today she has eaten a ton I am not sure when she will have them but her nipples no longer have any hair, she is so large she cant even groom her behind area. She has been grooming a little more today then normal but nothing extreme, I dont see any mile all tho her nipples are like flakey? She has been acting kind of weird today any ideas on how much longer we have I took her to the vet on the 8th and he said then that he could feel them move and thought it would be soon to bring her in this next weekend the 3-22 if she hadnt had them! Let me know what you think!! I will try and post pics of her soon

It's really impossible to tell unless you know when she mated. They say the average you feel them for 2 weeks before birth, but in one of my rescues I felt the kittens moving a full 4 weeks before she gave birth.

I think that the vet is concerned with how big she is she is normally a small cat but like i said she cant even groom her hind end and her belly is so big i cant even get 2 hands around half of it

Shame you didn't have her spayed as soon as she came back - before conception and implantation.  But you are where you are.

She can get pregnant again very soon after kittening so keep her in until she has been spayed.  Ask your vets how soon after kittning they will do that.

I would be loathe to let him deliver the kittens unless it's clearly necessary for her health - the only real guide to when they are due is the date of first mating, and you don't have that.  It would be all too easy to deliver them and fine they are slightly premature, and premature kittens almost always don't make it.

I love the two pictures of this person holding your cat. They are precious.

I would suspect she was one of the late-coming, perhaps even a full week - it happens.

I can imagine you are experienced and thus feel them better than most. But as you self tell 2 weeks is the common, so it is NOT the main explanation.  I mean, 3 weeks before is more probable than 4... If even you normally feel them firstly at 2 weeks...   :)

Some throwing isnt unusual. Cats are known to be throwing now and then.  One key scene in Shrek was based on this cat throwing up in a unappropirate moment.

But look up. If she throws more then occasionally it may be something going on.  Look also at the other behavior and symptoms - and combine the factors, so to speak.

Good luck!

Oh, I think it is time to contact your vet (on the phone at first) and ask. The vet will know follow up questions.

You may perhaps need to give some pedialyte, you dont want to have her dehydrated,

The main ingredient is  dextrose (=glucose sugar).

I shall write it down in next minutes.

Basic Pedialyte for cats, humans, etc...

1 litre water.

1,5 soup spoon (15-18 gram) of dextrose sugar.  Honey or common sugar works too, but dextrose is best.

1 tea spoon (3 gram) of minerale kitchen salt.  Common Na/Cl kitchen salt is OK, but if you must use pedialyte longer time for diarrhea or much throwing, other salts are also necessary.

Boil up, let cool down to body temp.  Dont spare too long, better make new.

If they threw up as soon as they drink, the trick is to give just a few drops, but often. This way the stomach never notices it got something...

If she drinks herself good, otherwise you give it to her with a dropper or something.

Good luck!

Ok we talked with the vet and between me and him think we came up with a mating week it would have been either janurary 23rd area or janurary 30th area the way we figured this out is because at that time i had gotten rid of kittens from my mom and remember telling my mom that my cats nipples were very pink and i was sure she was pregnant so i am expecting kittens by the end of next week if not the vet wants to do a c section and a spay on the 5th he said she is just to big to carry any longer then 1 more week and he thinks that there will be 7-8 kittens
