Hi everyone, I just joined this forum after having reached and read it often.
I have a couple of color-point cats, a male and a female, (they are not related). They both are two years old and the queen is now expecting. This is her second pregnancy. Last year she had 5 kittens but lost the first two, I think due to the fact that the first one was the biggest and was coming out tail first, and it was her first pregnancy. It seemed to have got stuck with his leg because when she finally pushed him out he had his leg all stretched out. I felt horrible not knowing how to help my lady, but overall I was by her side the whole time and she did amazingly well. The male (the sire) also was wanting to help her by licking her. However, I gently let him out thinking it might stress her out. I often wonder if I had let him help her if it would have actually help dislodge the kitten.
Anyway, I am expecting this year's pregnancy to be much better and she is due on march 30. So in 3 weeks. This year, her nipples looks much bigger already than they were last year. Or so it seems to me. I have been moisturizing them with a very delicate cream that can be used on women's nipples as well, since I noticed some dark particles which I assumed is like small scabs. She seems to like the attentions. I also bought a product called hibitane for obstetric use which I heard it would be good to clean her nipples once in a while when she will be lactating to prevent infections.
This is a picture of my two cats when they were still younger.
