I went for cheap. The "$38.00 complete pair" at WalMart. The $38 was not covered, but the $89 eye exam was. My Rx changed by 2. It was - 5, now is -7They look really great! I have to go shopping for some new glasses too. My prescription has changed but I just haven't felt up to going out frame shopping. Plus glasses are expensive and my insurance only pays $100.00. Because I have progressive lenses, each pair of glasses, depending on the cost of the frame, can cost $500 or more. I'm loathe to spend that much money right now because I'm working on getting my new couch and recliner.
is the first pair really free?? They have cute styles
Unfortunately I need progressive lenses. So while I may be able to get frames on sale, the lenses ding me big time!I went for cheap. The "$38.00 complete pair" at WalMart. The $38 was not covered, but the $89 eye exam was. My Rx changed by 2. It was - 5, now is -7
All progressive is is bifocals right? Only without a line?Unfortunately I need progressive lenses. So while I may be able to get frames on sale, the lenses ding me big time!
Have you checked out Clearly Contacts? I have a friend that orders through them and says that they're really good. I'm going to get my prescription and try them out soon. They have an agent that you can chat with that can tell you how much the lenses would be as well.Unfortunately I need progressive lenses. So while I may be able to get frames on sale, the lenses ding me big time!
Progressives are more complex than just bifocals without a line. My progressives have 4, now going to be 5, separate focal distances, plus a non-prescription area at the bottom for reading (I don't need glasses for reading). All progressive is is bifocals right? Only without a line?
I
f that is the case, get some seperate reading glasses?
Thanks, unfortunately ordering my glasses online is not an option for me. I need to have my focal points checked when I get fitted for glasses. My focal points aren't front/centre. And if the focal points aren't determined correctly before the lenses are made, I not only get wicked headaches, but I also can't focus on things and end up falling over stuff.Have you checked out Clearly Contacts? Edited To Add: I just did a fake order to see how much progressive lenses would be on the site and they're $149-199 depending on which style you want. If you did it at a time when they have free lenses you'd just have to pay shipping (I think it's $38) and the cost of the lenses. I'm not sure if they do insurance claims through there so you might have to submit them manually, but you could get a pair of progressive lens glasses for just over $100 after your insurance claim.
Shipping is about $16 from Clearly Contacts. They have the free glasses promotion all the time where you just put firstpairfreeca in the discount in the checkout. I also have a coupon for free glasses from there if anyone from Canada is interested (as long as you haven't ordered from there before).Have you checked out Clearly Contacts? Dad likes those... they look horrible on me.The smaller frames and lenses are all the style. Personally, I prefer larger, metal frames, and they're getting hard to find.
It's all a matter of taste, isn't it?
