I stopped past the shelter yesterday afternoon, and they were just toooooo busy, so I pitched in and helped.  A woman and her adult daughter came in looking for a companion cat for their current girl, and they fell in love with Angelina.

Angelina was adopted at our shelter in 2009, but her adopter just recently lost her job and had to move and couldn't take her with her, so she returned her to the shelter.  She's a patched tabby longhair.  VERY LONGhair.  She was, as you might imagine, very frightened at first, but she was improving.  She made up with the ladies very quickly, and they decided to adopt her.  YAY!!!

Then I took Blitzen up to our vets office to be available there for adoption.  They always have a cat up there, and they've had good luck.  They just got O'Hara adopted in a few weeks, after she'd been at another of our vets' office for almost 6 months.

Blitzen has been adopted twice.  The first time, he was adopted with another cat and stayed in the home for several months.  Then, the adopters got a new chair, the cats scratched on it, and they got returned to the shelter.  Then, Blitzen was adopted again recently.  The adopter didn't tell us she had a feral in the house she was trying to socialize, and our poor, laid-back lover Blitzen got attacked and brought back.  He was only gone 2 hours!

So, the boy is up at the vet's office, where he has already won the hearts of the ladies who work there.  He shouldn't be there long!

A peculiar memento for fosterers and us advisors.

I do often advise inexperienced fosterers to get a friendly companion cat who will be the ambassadeur.

If they dont have an own, so lend one or adopt one from a good shelter.

So the lady had a good though with this, but did worked it as badly as was possible.

The only almost good was she returned Blitzen, not giving him more dangers...

With the two hours it is immediately apparent there was hardly any introduction.

Worse, she let hardly Blitzen be comfortable with the house and with her, get in the smells of the house and herself, etc, etc.

The ambassadeur is supposed to play the role of the friendly resident, NOT  a scared newbe with peculiar smells of lotsa of other cats.

AWWWW Blitzen - what a gorgeous, handsome boy :clap::clap: I suspect you are right in that he will get adopted quickly and let's hope this time it is FOREVER. He certainly deserves a forever home after all that he has been through. My goodness..... :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
