Hi! I'm new to the cat site. My name's Artemis and I have to admit I've always been a dog person. But, about a year ago my husband and I saw a craigslist ad about some kittens. The Mom had died and they were extremely tiny and cute. So, I went and picked out one of them and ended up bringing him home. He wasn't litter box trained so we had to keep him in a large dog kennel at night with a litterbox and we had to bottle feed him. He was also a little, weird... which thankfully he's grown out of. But, now I'm a dog person who loves her cat Monk!
I do have a question though, when we first brought Monk home his eyes were blue. Which is what I expected since he was so young (the vet estimated at around 4 weeks) and when he got older they turned a light orangy-yellow. Now, though, they're slowly turning green. In the picture below he's about 1 year old. And you can see the "green" aound his pupils (it looks blueish in this picture). He's now 1 1/2 years and the green has spread more. Has anyone heard of that happening with a cat?
Sorry, I didn't have a good camera back then. This is monk when he was about 4-5 months. His eyes in this picture are a little darker looking than they really were but, no hint of green.
And then Monk 2 weeks after we brought him home with his blue eyes.
