Hi peoples.. Im just wondering if you happen to know if it is normal or good for a kitten to sleep a lot whilst they are sick and on antibiotics?
I have a kitten who is sick with the flu at the moment. I have had him here for 3 days now and is 10 weeks old, he wasnt sneezing much on the first day, only a couple of times but then the next day he was constantly sneezing and so me and my partner decided not to take any chances and knew it was abnormal so we took him to our local vet today and they gave him a vaccination and a flu shot.
They also gave us antibiotics to give our kitten twice a day for 7 days. He doesnt have the gooey eyes or discharge from the nose and the man said that he seems to be a healthy kitty and should be fine in the next few days (hope to god, fingers crossed).
He is sleeping pretty much ever since we got him home from the vet, and that was bout some time in the afternoon like round.. 3pm and it is now 10:16pm. Although he was up for a little bit at one point but not for long because he just preferred to go back to sleep poor thing is probably drowsy and just really needs sleep i think..
But im here asking if it is good for him to be sleeping it off because he has been sleeping a fair amount of hours, very tired poor little fella.. im just hoping he will get over this sicky and will be ok again good as new.
Any experiences? or have dealt with the same issue and the outcome was good?
