Hi Guys,
it's been a long time since i've visited but i have a home remedy for persistent eye trouble.
My cat bobbie has had a weepy eye problem for years and every now and then we take her into the vet and he checks for scratches, ulcers etc. and there are none. So he gives us drops that clear it up for a while, then it comes back. His diagnosis, and the diagnosis of at least one other vet is that sometimes cats with a bit of persian in them get these blocked tear ducts...
Anyway, the other day, after reading that organic coconut oil is not toxic to cats i thought i would just try to see if that might help with the problem rather than the eye drops.... so, i got a q tip and dipped it in the bottle of coconut oil and then just gently rubbed it over the corner of the eye near the nose where the tear duct is.
she usually squirms around but didn't i am presuming because there was no stinging sensation... anyway, her the weepeyness cleared up and even though it does come back from time to time, the coconut oil clears it right back up again.
just thought i would share that with you incase any of you have the same troubles.
