I've just started using churru treats for nail clippings as both my cats have over time less cooperative.
My higher food motivated cat will allow me to flip her on her back in my lap while I hold a churru in my mouth for her to eat. This allows me to easily get front and back nails.
I've had to move slower with my tortie as she was very suspicious with the churru training, but now she's more cooperative. (Whereas in the past just seeing the clippers made her move away from me.) The training included touching of paws, exposing the nails, and clipping the clippers to simulate the noise.
