My foster kittens have a big dog crate with a partial second level, and someone suggested to me that I put a cat hammock on there, so I grabbed a bunch of cheapo yarn I had in the basement and made this!  One big problem, though: it's too popular and they don't all fit!  Version 2 is in the works with a few minor adjustments as well.

I want one!  When I was in Costa Rica quite a few years ago I ran across some folks selling hammocks, and they sold kitty hammocks.  Seemed like a lot of fun, but I didn't buy one.  I want one, but I don't know where I would put it or if my cats would even have any interest.  That, and I can't crochet to save my life!

Anne - oh, thanks for pointing me in the direction of that!  I am actually more of a knitter, but crochet seemed more appropriate for this project.

DuckDodgers - we're wondering the same thing about where to put more hammocks.  My husband has decided that all the cats need their own hammock and especially one in the bedroom because he wants "his" cat to sleep in there.  I'm thinking little stands made out of pvc or maybe wood?

I recall seeing pics of someone who hung hammocks under chairs, tying them to the chair legs.
