I know there are some, myself included, who want to put this past winter behind us. But I thought I would post a few pictures as a reminder

In this pic, I had just cleaned my car off about 30 minutes before.

Note the height of the snow along the side of the drive. Yes, it was that deep.

That wire fence is 3 feet high, gives you an idea of how deep the snow was.

And what better way to end these winter pictures, than with a Eurasian lynx who just loves the snow, but not me
This is Montana at the sanctuary

Just by looking at the pictures!

Was it an unusual cold winter or does it snow that much every year?

Beautiful pictures. I enjoyed this winter, because it snowed in Charleston, SC! We got 5" where I live, and they haven't had snow here that stuck in a LONG time. The Jersey girl in me misses it soo much!

Actually, I think we were still below normal for total snowfall this year. We average 100-120 inches per year (yes, that is 10 feet). The thing about this winter, is that it tried to make up for little snow in November and December. Once January hit, it wouldn't stop. We get lake effect snow off the great lakes, so it is very common to have a lot of snow on the ground.

The pictures are truly beautiful. But, you know, I'm more than happy that winter's behind us now!

We didn't get as much snow this year either. Those are lovely pictures! My winter basically went like this:

Me: 911 what is the address of the emergency
Caller: I'm on the highway, my car flipped over- ended up in a ditch- hit another car, whatever
Me: Sir, what highway are you on?
Caller: I don't knoooooooowwww the highway!
Me: Where were you going?
Caller: Michigan, Indianapolis, whatever
Me: Mile marker?
Caller: I don't knoooooooowwww I was driving to Michigan on the highwaaaaay.
Me: Hold on, I'm getting a gps location now.

Repeat several thousand times.

Well, not completely
We still had a ton of snow here this winter. It just showed up later than usual.

John it looks like you almost got the equivalent of a Canadian winter. But you're still about a foot short

That's what it was like all over here this winter. The fence is 6 feet high just for some reference.

We get a ton of snow where I live, but I always enjoy looking at pictures of snow covered trees in a woodland setting!

Many of those pictures are worthy of being on a greeting card, especially this one!!! It's amazing!

I had an accident once where I did a 360 in a blizzard. And while I was ok, I really wasn't sure which way I should be walking. I was so turned around.

This was our October.
