Hi, I'm Tanna, and I'm new to this forum. I am thinking about adopting this little kitten from a local animal shelter, but I'm kind of stuck on a name.

He is a male kitten about 5 wks old

I was going to name him Yuki (雪) which means "snow" in Japanese.

What do you think?

I love that little guy! Yuki is an awesome name and very apropos of his white fur. I once read that a cat's name should, ideally, be two syllables and end with -ee. A cat responds better to a name like this, that's what I read anyway.

Yuki is a great name for him, but for some reason when I first looked at him, I thought Caspian. (It's one of the cities up here in the Northwoods where I live.)

Yuki is a great name for him, I have an old friend who was named Yuki. I can't really think of any other names other than one such as Snowy which is basically the English translation.

Jackz, Jazzy & Ginga.

I like the name a lot.
Another that comes to mind when looking at him is Shiro (I believe that means white?).

Blanco?

He's more that 5 weeks old in that photo. More like 8-10 weeks, I'd say.

Besides, 5 wks is really too young to be away from Mom and siblings.

thanks everyone for your suggestions and kind words!

From what the people at the shelter told me, they found him abandoned on the streets, so they took him in.

I really like the name Caspian that someone suggested and Blanco and Shiro (meaning white, as someone also said) are great names.

I am in the process of moving with my husband for his job, and that's when I'll be able to pick him up (assuming all the paperwork goes through, of course.)

I'll be sure to post more pics later!

Thanks everyone!
