So currently I'm edging my stray/feral cat off of friskies to Costco dry food. But I noticed a weird behavior where the cat will almost pick out the Friskies from the bowl.

Both are supposed to have fish. Which this cat likes.

I'm guessing Friskies got some cat version of MSG?

I meant this bit more like why does it feel like the cat is addicted to friskies

I would suspect the ingredients in Friskies are more your cat's liking. Maybe s/he isn't a fan of peas and/or sweet potatoes. Although my cat only eats canned food, she does not appreciate either of these ingredients in her food.
