Hello Guys, so we are currently feeding our two boys (2yo & 1/2yo) these following brands:

- MjAMjAM (wet food only)
- MAC's (wet food only)
- Real Nature Wilderness (dry food only)

I am living in Austria so I don't know if these brands are available in the US, UK, etc but I was curious if they are well balanced and good. Just want the best for my boys after all! 😊

Also side note: What are your thoughts on kibble as side dish? Because I heard a lot of negativity about kibble in general so I wonder if it's even okay to feed 🤔
The main food source is wet food but we always keep a bowl of kibble out for them in case they are hungry during the night or while we're at work

Never heard of those brands.. leaving kibble out is a good idea depending on how many cals in the wet. I use food timers for wet since I never feed dry

Yes I thought they aren't that common outside of Germany/Austria but I thought I might give it a go in asking anyways because I think UK has some of those brands and they are the best I could find with my novice knowledge on cat food in our petstore 😊

Honestly I'm not sure, but they don't eat a lot kibble, they eat like one bowl in a time span of two days. They definitely prefer wet food. We feed semi time coordinated, they always get food in the morning when we wake up and before we go to bed, but if they are hungry during the day they always let me or my partner know (We both have shift jobs so someone is mostly home)

But they definitely don't overeat, we weigh them time to time and they both have a healthy weight. Since they are both young they are very active too. They love chasing each other through the whole apartment 🤣

Sorry, I never heard of them despite the close distance between me and you and the border we have in common.
I feed my cat wet food twice a day and dry food twice a day, but I can't leave any dish of kibble out because one of the two is always hungry and would eat whatever is available.
I used to do that with my previous two cats, and I thought it was a nice thing for when we weren't at home or at night.

For MAC's I found everything online but MjAMjAM was harder to find, some I had to write down myself from the food cans so I hope everything is right! Also sadly only could write those down that I have right now (I am also now hungry because they make the meal names of MjAMjAM sound way too delicious lol)

Here's the ingredients for the dry food bag we currently have:

Real Nature Wilderness - True Country
Chicken protein (25,8%), fresh chicken meat (16%), potatoes flakes (12,6%), salmon meal (8%), chicken fat (7,7%), fresh salmon (6%), herring meal (5%), potato starch (4,2%), apples (3%), chicken protein, hydrolysed (3%), fresh chicken liver (3%), lignocellulose (1,9%), spinach (0,5), sunflower oil (0,3%), potassium chloride (0,2%), chicory inulin (0,2%), yeast cell walls (equivalent to 0,04% mannanoligosaccharides) (0,2%), rosemary (0,04%), catnip (0,04%), parsley (0,04%), stinging nettles (0,04%), chamomile (0,04%), psyllium seed husks (0,03%), Yucca schidigera (0,02%) ((no idea what that is but there's no other translation for this)), marine algae meal (Ascophyllum nodosum) (0,01%)

It also claims to be 75% chicken & fish, 25% fruits, vegetables & valuable ingredients

I have never typed out such a long ingredients list haha

Edit: I just looked up what Yucca schidigera is, it's a plant that helps digestion and therefore is in some cat and dogfood

The Real Nature Wilderness would be at the bottom of my list of what to feed simply because it seems to have a lot of potato in it. The others sounds great.

One caveat, since I can't actually look them up. Are these complete foods, or supplemental foods? As long as they are listed as nutritionally complete and not supplemental, the first two brands where you listed the ingredients sound really good for cats (to me anyway)

Thank you dor your answer! Yes they are complete foods 😊 And oh no, should I look for a different brand with the dry food? MAC's does have dry food but the bags are so small, so maybe I will look online! I want my boys to have a healthy diet after all with everything they need ♥

Oh! I didn't realize this was a dry food (my error, not yours). I must admit I know nothing about dry food. That being said, since it isn't full of wheat, corn, soy, that type of thing, I'm thinking it's fine, especially since you are only serving it as a side dish.

No Problem! Then I will keep giving it to them but I will keep my eyes open to other options, if I find something better the next time I'm in the petstore I will try that, my boys luckily aren't picky so food changes shouldn't be a problem 😊
