This is what greets me when I come back in the house from working in the yard.

Then he jumps down, runs over to the rug in front of the stove and does this.

No, he's not asking for a tummy rub. He wants me to retrieve his mousies from under the stove!

We have 5 of 8 that tummy rubs are very much wanted. Although one of those - Gray- a former stray - I am still very cautious about giving a tummy rub.
I pick my times - mostly when he's very sleepy - then he'll stretch out for his tummy and the inside of his legs to get a rubbing.

The other three (feral born) are still being socialized - and it's slow going - but when I do get a brush around their tummy there's no offer to protect it - they don't seem to be sensitive any place I brush, so I have high hopes.

So yours has boundaries , hope you didn't find them the hard way.
