Giz somehow injured his paw pad back in mid July and now it looks like this (see pics). I’ve already taken him to the vet twice— emergency vet visit when it initially bled like crazy but eventually stopped and again in August because I was worried since he kept getting around his e-collar, out of the bandages, and making it reopen. She said that it was healing fine and not to worry about bandaging it (same as emergency vet visit).
To be fair the 1st collar wasn’t big enough to stop him from getting at it and I’m wondering if I’ve just been too impatient and fell victim to big sad kitty eyes...I’ve taken off his ecollar thinking it’s healed enough and in a few days he’s got it bleeding again.
He doesn’t seem to be in any pain walking, all other paw pads are normal, he isn’t solely focused on that paw pad it just seems like regular grooming is enough to reopen the wound over time.

If he isn't obsessing over it, and the Vets say it's okay, then I really wouldn't worry too much about it. If things change from that, then another collar that actually fits may be in order. It's nearly impossible to keep a bandage on a foot, so those e-collars are about your only option, I think.
