Hi everyone
I just wanted to update on my Lucy.
She is still with us and although much improved, still not fantastic.
She has complete use of her right side. She is also now moving her tail. But at this stage still cannot use her left legs at all. She can feel them and move them. She can stretch them and when you push on them, there is resistance and she can push back (more so in the front). When she stretches she can also move all legs simultaneously and equally. But she can't stand on them. The lower two joints in the front left buckle over as does the lower joint in the back. And she has no strength to stand on them.
They have been taking blood every Monday as up until a couple of weeks ago, her while cell count was still very high (59) and red cell count very low. By last Monday this had improved dramatically (although not yet as it should be). Blood was sent to the pathologist last week to confirm that they were new red blood cells and that they were actually regenerating. Which they are. The culture done weeks ago indicated nothing as have scans. The vets are at an absolute loss as to what it could be. She is eating well and gaining weight. (She had lost a lot) She wants to walk and will try but just can't make those legs work. She has control of her bladder although needs to be held in the litter tray. She will let us know when she needs to go. She is currently still on antibiotics and Prednisolone.
