Went from being normal by appearances to sleeping long periods of time,eyes looking off to the side, barely eating or drinking, to hiding. The vet did blood work, xray, etc,...There was no diagnosis, just one hundred possibilities. Recommended that we see a neurologist. Only one is in Portland, 3 hours away. We also noticed after the vet visit that his right eye was half open and irritated. Now, that eye is no longer blue but yellowish orange. He is a flame tip siamese , 7 yrs of age, adopted from the shelter when he was 6 months old. He had symptoms of asthma when we adopted him. I am trying to think o anything that would be important.

Hello

Only one is in Portland, 3 hours away.
Can you call and make an appointment? They may be booked quite a ways out so if you decide to go, you'd be on their schedule. In the meantime maybe something else will come up.

Were you able to take to your vet about his eye? Is there something that can be applied to help his eye to hopefully feel better?

Are you handfeeding him?

Yes. We made the appointment once we were home from the vet appointment. The first available appointment was this Wed.
The vet is closed for Christmas so we have not taken him back. The vet office did text me tonight and I told them about his eye. They haven't responded as of yet. He is eating on his own, just not as much.

In your first post you said he was barely eating or drinking. You need to get him to eat and drink more, and I would suggest handfeeding in addition to the suggestions in this;

Making sure all water bowls are cleaned daily may encourage water consumption. Circulating water fountains can be provided for cats that like to drink running or dripping water, and multiple water bowls should be offered throughout the home. Also, the size and depth of water bowls may need to be considered, and different types of water (e.g., distilled, warm, cold) may need to be tried.

Hi, so only the one eye is orange? He is eating a normal amount? What do you feed? The appointment with the specialist is this wed?

You might want to see if there is a feline only vet in your area. They are often able to figure things out with cats because all they see are cats.
