I recently adopted a 4 week old Siamese kitten from a struggling to care for him. Not sure how they ended up with him, away from his mother at such a young age. But I am trying my best.

He currently will only drink KMR, and shows no interest in any type of of gruel I mix. In fact, he only wants to eat if positioned on my lap (though i am slowly breaking him of that habit)

Perhaps I am just being impatient, but he has no health issues, is using the litter box, and is all around playful. i will continue to try various gruels, and even try a raw option, as he has begun nibbling fingers and toes and has begun destroying bottle nipples from his chewing.

Any help would be great!

You can let him suckle his KMR from a syringe so there is no danger of swallowing pieces of a nipple.

He's chewing because his milk teeth are coming in.

He sounds not quite ready to wean. Most kittens are ready to try soft foods at 5 weeks. In the meantime, try Gerber turkey meat baby food. He may lick it off your finger, or you can mix it with KMR and feed it from the syringe.

Thank you for caring for him! :)
