My cat Bernie is 14yrs old , I noticed within the last few days she’s lost a lot of weight, but hasn’t let me get close to her (which is fairly normal) so I didn’t notice right away. Today she came to me and I looked her over, she looked as if she had a scab on her lower lip, so I tried to check it out as best I could and now I’m worried. Before racking up a huge vet bill I figured I’d ask if this is normal. Her canine is stuck pretty far into her bottom lip. It’s not as bad on the other side and no scabbing. The worst seems to be on the right bottom side of her gums.

The very best thing I ever did for my older cat was get her dental surgery. She stopped eating and struggled a lot with her teeth. She also had an infected canine that needed removed and afterwards she ate like she used to and was very noticeably a lot happier too. I can say without a doubt, that the dental surgery has given her not just more time, but a way better quality of life. It was 100% worth the cost.

The mouth doesn’t look out of the ordinary. It’s probably something else, I’d take her to the vet for at least an exam

Tooth alignment looks normal, but the scab (are you sure it's not just pigmentation? I'm unsure based on photos) and her lack of appetite are concerning. Has she had bloodwork done?

She may have a FORL, or some other issues further down in her mouth. Bloodwork and a thorough dental exam, ideally with a dental specialist, will give you a better idea of what's going on :)
