Third Cat

We are going Saturday to adopt a third furbaby but do not know Whether or not to get a male kitten or female kitten I have a seven year-old female and a two-year-old male both spayed and neutered does it matter on sex of kitten will my female want to mother or no will my male spray

I would suggest a female kitten as males tend to be territorial around other males.

However, it really depends on the personality of both of your cats.

Do they get along well? Are they good friends? Do they have laid back personalities?

There may be some hissing at first and some jealousy, but in general, adult cats tend to accept kittens much quicker and more easily than new adult cats.

My female is almost 8 and lazy my male is 2 and rambunctious but they get along

It sounds like your male cat will enjoy playing with a kitten, though if it is very young you'll need to supervise initially, until the kitten gets bigger physically.

The kitten will need kitten chow and lots of wet food the first year.

The kittens we are going to look at are all 6 months and older the ones who have not been adopted obviously so im assuming a lot of beautiful black ones and i think i have my mind set on a black beauty just cause

At 6 months the kitten will be vaccinated and spayed and ready to play!

Give your cats a chance to adjust.
