I started account here because I just had to tell someone this. I need to put this out there where the world can see it.
Monday morning, July 1, 2019 EST, the sweetest little cat I've ever known passed away. His name was Oreo ... a little black and white American Shorthair ... and I've never known a cat like him. To me, he was the most greatest, most amazing cat that has ever lived.
I've never met a cat who was so affectionate ... who expressed his love for me and for his mama (my wife) in such sweet ways. When I sat down, he'd hop up on my lap, put his paws on my chest and give me sweet little kisses. Then he'd push his little forehead up against my chin or my head.
He would sleep cuddled by his mama's head, right on the bed beside her with her arm around him. But as he got older, he could not curl up like that anymore, so he begin sleeping on her chest, with his head pressed against hers.
He would respond to the things we said. I don't know what his vocabulary was, but I know he understood a good bit of the English language. And he had an uncanny ability to make his desires known ... to genuinely communicate with us. No one can tell me cats can't talk.
He was 17 or 18 years old when he died. Our family's world is a sadder, emptier place without him.
Oreo ... I will never forget you. I will never ... ever stop loving you. No one who knew you will. You were the most wonderful cat I've known.
