The cost of my rescues food is gone crazy, any suggestions?

So I feed 7 rescues a variety of kibble and wet canned. Can’t buy the usual kibble brand since it’s all “ out of stock” but the wet is crazy. I fed fancy feast primavera and used to pay about $18/24 can mixed package. Tried to order today and it was $49/24 can mixed pkg and up! Tried switching to tiny tiger brand from chewy. They mostly seemed to like it….of course they lick the gravy and leave the meat portion on both products! But now it’s “out of stock “ as well.

What’s a guy to do?

just hate to have to tell them

Try looking at prices for American Journey and Fancy Feast Classics.

I recommend a switch to Fancy Feast pate or Friskies pate. They are soy, starch, gluten, and grain free. We had a sugar kitty, and we went through a crash course on how most foods are unhealthy for cats. Surprisingly, Friskies pate was one of the canned foods "approved" by several feline diabetes groups, and it's much cheaper. We feed Friskies pate to our kitties who have adopted us (many more than just Midget) and they all do well on it. I can usually get cases from Chewy.

yesterday I just bought 3x 24-can cases of Fancy Feast Turkey and Giblets pate on chewy, $19.20/24 can case. They come into stock randomly it seems, so might be helpful to add it to favorites and check often, or sign up for auto ship.

Yes, I just saw primavera was back in stock….for a while. You know it seems to me that “autoship” should mean that your top of the list for product shipments but sadly, not so

Wish mine would actually eat the fancy feast but all they do is lick the gravy….ha! So pate is a waste, no juice! Has to be primavera or similar. They now like tiny tiger “extra gravy “ chicken. But again, just the liquid. So now I’m reduced to collecting the uneaten portions in a cool whip bowl and putting it out at night for my skunks and opossums! Good for rodent control

Do you have a Pet Supplies Plus in your area? If you do, they regularly send out coupons for up to 25% off of your order. I just put an online order in for one of my cat's food, and I saved $9. I also shop there now for my litter because that 25% off is a chunk off the cost.

I wish. I’m in sw Missouri. We have drive through liquor stores on every corner, lots of “medical weed” stores and casinos galore! Dog hunting for coyotes as recreation and goin down town on Saturday night, turnin our lights on and watching the birds hit the feed silo’s. But no pet supplies plus.

You might see if they ship to you. I see they have locations in St. Louis - I don't know how far you are from there. You can go to the website and enter your city and they will give you the nearest store. I'm not sure about their shipping policies. They don't have huge flashy logos like Petco and Petsmart and sometimes they are in the back of a shopping center so you could drive past and never know it was there unless you were specifically looking for it.

I will do that. St. Louis is about 300 miles but I see they have one or two at Springfield which is closer. Thanks george

One of my boys is a "licker" when he eats. But I found that to get him to actually eat, I only get pate and mix in a bit of warm water and mush it real good so it's like a really thick gravy...he'll eat it up that way.

Yep, with 7 rescues I get that a lot! That snake eye that says “I know what you’re doing and I’m not going to put up with it! I wonder sometimes who’s the pet. Reminds me of that Seinfeld show where he talks about alien’s looking down on us trying to find out which is the “top” species and seeing the person walking their pet, the pet poops and the human gets out a bag and cleans it up! Who’s in charge? Kinda like that.
