Teared open patch of fur

My cat has this patch of fur not entirely teared off, about an inch and a half tear, most of the patch still attached, looks like a pocket or something. The teared layer hardened now and the skin is dry and he doesn't seem to be in pain, he acts actually acts fine. No signs of blood or any body fluids. Now, I can't really go to the vet, they don't have that in this part of the country. Is my cat going to be fine? Sorry, english is not my first language.
