Although I have never had a CKD cat, it is my understanding that kidney function, once lost, does not "grow back." So I'm not certain how the stem cells would be used here.

Also, an interesting, related article from earlier this year. Cats with chronic kidney disease may help inform treatment for humans in future (news-medical.net) I had no idea that this subject has been under discussion for at least 10 years.
