Hello. My cat got spayed earlier today about 10 hours ago and I was wondering if her spay incision looked healthy. I saw photos online and they were always clean looking while hers is red. She tries to lick it but she has a cone around her neck to promote healing. Does her incision look normal and what should I do to clean it? She doesn’t like it when I move her either(she yelps in pain) so I can’t get a good angle for the photo. Please help!

It just happened this morning, that's why it doesn't look as "nice". Do give her a few minutes a day to clean herself and the incision area, just watch her to make sure she doesn't try to bite the stitches (although it looks like your vet has a nice hidden stitch technique, so risk should be minimal). It'll look a lot better once she can clean it up a bit.

So far it looks really good, besides the seepage/betadine stains.

Wow thank you for responding so fast! I’ll do as you said and let her clean it up under close supervision for a few minutes. Thanks :)
