Should You Clean A Scabbed (wound On Head)

Hello, just looking to see if anyone can answer a quick question I have sorry no picture but wound is located in between his ear and the top of his head, he has been given medication by the vet and the wound is finally starting to scab over. Should I continue cleaning his wound I am worried he will start scratching at it again if I keep applying things to it, any thoughts?

Hi! I'm not a vet but I think you'd want to try and keep the scab intact, while still applying the medication if possible
If necessary could you get one of those "dreaded" cones to put on him to keep him from being able to reach the area?
