My cat Pepper (male, neutered, almost 2y/o) may have ingested very small amounts of my lotion that has 3% salicylic acid (CeraVe Rewewing SA lotion) and I am worried because I read online that salicylic acid is toxic to cats. I had left the lotion out and left the room and was worried that he may have licked the bottle while I was gone- so I tried to test if he would have licked it on his own by letting him sniff it from a distance- and he accidentally booped his nose on the lotion pump opening, I washed his nose and face with water a few times- but I am still worried. There wasn’t any visible lotion I could see on him that transferred during the boop but I made sure to wash his face several times, if there were any it would be trace amounts. This happened around 30 minutes ago and he has not shown symptoms but I’m still concerned

Hi
Keep an eye on him, and if he seems off in any way you'll want to get him to an emergency vet (take the bottle with you if you go).
Sending good thoughts :vibes::heartshape::hearthrob::crossfingers::hearthrob:
