Hi everyone! I just recently adopted a kitten from my local Humane Society, and rather than drive my significant other up the wall by talking about cat stuff with him constantly (he's more of a dog person, so really his patience with me thus far has been amazing), so I figured I'd join a community of like-minded furball parents.
My little darling is a 15 week old kitten named Pixel. I saw her on the Humane Society's website and just knew I had to have her. It was love at first sight! Though as we all know, it's really the cat who chooses who they go home with. Luckily, she bonded with me the instant we met, and I guess you can say the rest is history. Pixel is a pure black DSH with the sweetest personality you could ask for in a kitten. Playful and energetic when the time calls for it, but also willing to mellow out and just chill in my lap or on the back of the couch as well.
I do have a few pictures of her so far, although I have to apologize for my camera's bad quality. Getting something better than a potato hasn't really been high up on the list.
The first image is the day we brought her home. As you can see, she wasn't nervous at all, and after exploring around, Pixel settled in quite nicely. She had been spayed the day before I adopted her, so please excuse her shaved belly. The second image is from today. The Humane Society suggested I schedule a wellness check appointment soon after adoption, so that's just what we did. Surprisingly she didn't give much of a fuss during the exam with the sole exception of her temperature being taken. The vet was very impressed with her!
I greatly apologize for my rambling. Mostly I'm just excited to be part of a community of people who share my love for all things feline!
