On Wednesday I had to go to the doctors. The clinic is at a corner of 2 busy streets and there is only one entrance/exit : Which is at the back of the clinic. The parking lot is odd. It's relatively small but optimized to accommodate as many cars as possible which means that there isn't a whole lot of room to maneuver.
The entrance is not wide enough to accommodate incoming and outgoing traffic at the same time. And the ticket dispenser location is at the entrance/exit but set back a bit so it isn't designed for you to just drive up to it and put in your money and grab your ticket. Basically it's the type that you go and park your car, go back and get the ticket and then put the ticket inside your car.
On Wednesday there was an elderly lady stopped in the middle of the entrance with both her driver side front and back doors open and she was going back and forth between the ticket dispenser and the back seat of her car, where I guess she kept her purse, because she either didn't have the right change or the right amount of change.
The driver of the van that I was in blasted the horn at her. Not a short beep, but he held it down. I saw her look up and go back to digging around in the back seat of her car. He blasted the horn again and I saw her stand up and say something (windows were closed so I didn't hear what she said). Then she went back to digging around in the back seat and then back to the ticket dispenser and the driver of the van kept on literally leaning on the horn because she was blocking the way in and out.
She kept on doing what she was doing at her own pace and finally ignored his horn. Finally she got her ticket and drove into the parking lot. He pulled in behind her and drove past her to get to the front of the building to drop me off.
As you approach the front of the building the parking let gets narrower because the corner has a rounded yield which hacks off part of the parking lot.
He pulled up to the entrance and stopped. I heard a horn honk loudly. When I got out of the van I saw that she had pulled right up behind him with her bumper practically touching his and had boxed him in completely. And she was blasting her horn at him practically non-stop.
When I went inside I looked out the window of the waiting room on the 2nd floor and I saw that she was still sitting there honking her horn at him and he was yelling at her to move!
