Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! :coolcat:

What book should everyone read once in their life?

The Rape of Nanking by Irish Chang. It's unfortunate that even to this day the long list atrocities committed by Japan during WWII is still so unknown 😬

Braiding Sweetgrass. It's kind of an intense, slow read because there is a lot to think about in there but it is well worth it.

:yeah: I completely agree!

I was going to say that too but since you mentioned it I'm going with The Scarlet Letter. It's considered a classic novel that we had to read it in high school and although controversial for some I was captivated by it.
i loved it as well. also, A Member of the Wedding and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter

It is so hard to pick... here are a few..
Atonement
By Ian Mcewan
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous
By Ocean Vuong
And 2 novels in 1 that is:
As Long As We Both Shall Live
Till Death Do US Part
By Lurlene McDaniel

To Kill a Mockingbird and the Diary of Anne Frank were mentioned already or they would be on my list as well

I hated both of these books.

My mind keeps going to The Giver as my suggestion.
