What would be your dream vacation this year?

I've been working really had lately, so I'd like something relaxing. I'd love to go somewhere tropical with beautiful beaches. Somewhere like Thailand, but not as hectic as Thailand. Laos maybe, that seemed like a very relaxed country.

I'd like to stay in a secluded little beach front hotel and have lots of pampering. Massages and facials and pedicures, that kind of thing.

It would be great if the hotel had a yoga studio too. I think after a few days of yoga, tropical fruit smoothies and massages I'd be good as new.

:purr:

How about you, what would you like to do for your vacation this summer?

In fantasy land (where my health issues would magically disappear) I have several dream vacations. One would be to go to a yoga retreat, probably in Australia where there's a yoga teacher who I'd adore to learn from.

The other two are much closer to home. One would be to go down to Exmoor with my Collie-Bear, to ride her on the trails her ancestors would have been on...and maybe even meet some of her relatives. Collie herself was born and bred right here, but the majority of the Exmoor herds are still living in and around Exmoor.

My third is also pony-related. I'd love to take Collie to a trainer specialising in liberty work and spend some time learning from them and strengthening my bond with Collie in the process. There's an instructor I've seen on Instagram who looks amazing, and there's also a trainer not to far from here who's great too.

(I should add, residential equine vactions/courses do exist, and so do B&Bs in places like Exmoor that have stabling for the horses as well as accommodation for the humans ;) ).

In reality, any vacation is a virtually impossible dream, thanks to my health issues mostly :sigh:

Well we're leaving on one of those dream vacations in 2 weeks - Turks and Caicos, as a belated honeymoon/1st anniversary trip. We're staying at a very nice resort in a 1BR oceanfront room - basically a condo but with hotel amenities. It's huge, wrap-around decks, full kitchen, 1-1/2 baths, laundry! Just laying low for 8 nights doing not a blessed thing other than relaxing.

My dream vacation is already booked: for this winter, my mother and I will be travelling to Iceland together. I've been wanting to go to Iceland since I was a child as it's always been my dream to see the northern lights. I went to Northern Sweden a few years ago in an attempt to see them, and whilst the trip was still very enjoyable, no northern lights were to be found (typically, they were out the week after I got back home).
Next Sunday I'm off to tour the French lavender fields in Provence for two weeks, and then in late August I'm having a long weekend in Paris.

I'd like to take a historical tour of England. It will probably never happen because it's so difficult for me to walk. I'd never be able to go through the great houses or around the battlefields.

Same as it is every year. A summer vacation to Oslo, Norway to beat the heat. I cannot /stand/ spring or summer or temperatures over 70* Fahrenheit and I really just want to learn Norwegian and immigrate because their weather is fantastic...

Already going to Rome this year - seeing the Colosseum, Vatican, Ostia Antica, Pompeii and climbing mount Vesuvius. Not to mention all the other long list of things, both mainstream and hidden gems alike, to see that would fill up pages. And checking out small Italian villages, castles and some wine tasting. I'm reeeaallly excited, it is only 30 days away now!

I'm a real historical lover and buff. From medieval castles, museums, archaeological sites and everything in between. I also really enjoy beautiful nature. And see a local performance too. I'm not much of a beach bum, it might sound strange but I need to see things, explore and stimulate my mind in order to relax and feel at peace.

One of my other major dream vacations was already done too, which was Ireland and N.Ireland.

Next year I'm really hoping to go to Scotland or England! :)

Other hopes would be Hungary, Russia (Although my mother is worried about my safety as a solo female traveller there, while my father is worried I'll meet a a Russian man and bring him home LOL Oh my Finnish father...) Japan Etc

P.S I also recommend Cambodia! Very pretty and much quieter than Thailand.
