Today is the first Monday all summer that feels like a true summer Monday. I’m still slowly putting my house in order the way I want it; but I don’t have a big project or event hanging over my head for once! :cloud9: I can’t tell you all how happy I am about this! I just want to do fun stuff and READ!

I got to stop at a Barnes & Noble recently so I have two new paperbacks waiting to be read. My family never has quite enough patience for me in there. Of course I had to help THEM before I got to look! They had classics on a buy 1 get one half off deal so DD ended up with 3 reasonably priced books. I could have been in there browsing for hours! :cloud9:

You're the author of a new book and the title is the last text you sent from your phone.

What is the title?

Mine would be:

Ok. Love you 😘

Sounds like a rom-com for young adults or something. I’m a little disappointed. :disappointed: My text before that was asking DH how his new socks and cooling leg covers feel so that’s not any better.

"Her adoption day will be my birthday"

To my dad talking about his sisters' upcoming cat adoption.

Not sure what kind of book that would be.

IM : “Do you want some cucumbers from the garden?” I guess a gardening book. Or FB message: “Try to sleep for short periods” - a self help book? The first was to a neighbor. The second was to my son Nate who is in Spain and dealing with major jet lag. He is having trouble resetting his inner clock.

"Never thought about doing it that way." It was a text with my friend, Bob, and we were talking about food. I swear! Bob and I are always talking about food! And our cats!

MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles Pre-pandemic, I used to love going to CT to visit with my friend. We'd always head over to the Book Barn where we could actually spend the entire afternoon. She said I was the only person she knew who never got bored, spending hours in a used book store with her. We'd drop Rick off at the casino and he'd text us when he figured he had lost enough money. An entire afternoon doing nothing but browsing books. Heaven!

Man we have a used book place about 45 minutes from us that I’ve been trying to get tobfor months! :disappointed: Its only open Friday to Sunday in a flea market like place with no air conditioning. It makes going in the summer really hard and going in the school year also hard because DH sure doesn’t want to go!

I did get into one near my inlaws that’s in a comfortable building; but again, no one had the patience to let me do it justice.:disappointed:

"Original blue only"

The context is that I have adopted myself a kitten from the outside (between my house and neighbors). Poor kitten is about 10 weeks old and was so flea infested ... there was no need to do any tests to "make sure" that kitten had fleas, I could see the darn things marching around in the thinner bits of fur. So I texted my son to ask him to get a flea comb and Dawn dish soap on his way home from work (he lives in the house with me), and then needed to specify.

Kitten wasn't looking good outside, but seems to have perked up a lot since I thinned down the flea infestation (not sure how many I missed, eats the kitten food with gusto, uses the box well, and plays with the new toys that I got for kitten. Kitten will be a long hair, and we're having a little trouble seeing what must be seen, but do think it's a girl. Vet appointment on the 28th, so we'll get confirmation one way or the other then.

If we're right about the gender, she will be named Pandora. And since such a post is worthless without pictures, here is the best one that I have so far (kitten moves around *a lot* unless held). The square is a foot-square tile that kitten is sitting on and using the "stand on scale holding cat, then stand on scale without cat" method, I've got a weight of 2.2 lbs.
