Usually the alarm clock, so I can turn it off. Actually, I'm so nearsighted that it's all a blur, no matter what I'm looking at. I have to bring the alarm clock within a couple of inches of my nose to even see it.

Usually the blanket. I like to sleep with my head covered up.

Window here also b/c I usually sleep on my side facing the window. Occasionally I'm facing my huband or on my back looking at the ceiling fan, but that usually means I've already woken up and switched positions to be that way.

Always my pillow - now the first thing I hear. That is a different story.

Good mornings, the first thing I see is Evie.

Usually her back, because this is how we cuddle!




When she's not cuddly, I'm usually facing down in to my pillow / blankets, so first thing I see is my bed! Pillows, blankets, sheets, whatever happens to be in front of my face at the time.

Alarm clock, I get up in the dark so there's nothing else to see.
