I'm not kidding either, I can and sometimes need to sleep a lot

maybe the kitties are dancing jigs on me
Same for me too. Usually on weekends, I sleep about 10 hours, sometimes more. It feels real good too. During the work week, I get between 7 and 8. I always wake up tired and have a hard time getting out of bed.

5-6 hours if I'm working, 7-8 if I'm not. I'm not a morning person so I wake up tired regardless of how much sleep I got.
I can function fine as is and can make do with less if I have to. Caffeine required, of course.

About 5 to 6 hours total bed time. Actual sleep is probably a lot less, because of my back pain. If I take an Ambien, I will sleep through the night without waking from the back pain. Unfortunately, the Ambien seems to mess with my short term memory, so I try not to take it too often. I've also been known to go online and do "Ambien shopping".... and not realize it until the packages start arriving! If I take the Ambien, I feel well rested, even when I only sleep 5 hours. Without it, I'm exhausted.
